Playing with friends on console, it's a joke!

So i played this at release on PC, can't really remember much how it was then since it was a while ago and it just wasn't that memorable..
Had no real interest in playing it again but my friend was really looking forward to play it on PS4 and wanted me and some others to play with him, and since there was that deal to pay 10€ to get on PS4+Acc copy i thought well might be fun with some friends.
Was actually hoping this "new" overhauled version would deliver, but how wrong i was, this time around when actually grouping and playing with friends as compared to my first time on PC where i mostly played alone, this is the worst experience i've ever had with an online game!
First off the quests, some quests update for everyone when you do a certain step of a quest, other don't, you never know if it'll work, this is kind of overseeable..
But wtf is up with no minimap or any reasonable way to actually see where your group members are except for pulling up the map every 30 seconds?
So far half our gaming sessions is just
-where are you?
-well where are you?
-big thingy
-okey follow the path from the big thingy and take a right
15 sec later...
-where did you go?... ah *** it just teleport to us...
and this repeats over and over "where are you? well where are you?"
This is by far the dumbest "mmo" game ever when it actually comes to playing online with your friends. i really want to enjoy the game but it's just not possible when you have to spend so much time and energy just to keep the group together.
And i absolutely refuse to open that *** map which needs you to stand still while looking at it to see which way my group members went...
This seriously needs a fix, cus an uninstall is gettin eminent if this horrible grouping experince persists!

✭As rare as it is that I group with anyone, I don't see any markers either, but on PC. Only on the map, when I'm lucky. The markers from group members on the compass were gone weeks or even months ago for some reason (not sure if this is a bug, though).

you cannot. Minimap addons are only available in PC0 -
Yeah, would love to be able to actually see my mates when we play, instead of that horrible downward facing arrow. Even if I could make the color of the arrow different would likely help. But we console players should wait, and see how they go. I'm sure there is a lot of PC-specific things that need attending too before they start releasing changes like this. Would be nice to have the option eventually though.0

Amsel_McKay✭✭✭✭✭Grouping while leveling is almost impossible, grouping for a single dungeon is ok and this is on PC (for over a year). The grouping tool does not work on PC still.0

yeah really pissed I can't play with my son on this game.
Had to make new characters b/c wrong alliance. quest didn't line up so ZERO point in joining a group.
Ridic how *** poor this game is. Servers and all.
After Skyrim everyone thought a MMO would be great, you really f$%#cked up this game. MMO, join and quest with people.....

My son and I started (he is only 7 so I wanted him to level with help) at the same time. As soon as we got to the starter town and grouped up he would be in a different phase even with the warp to player under group if he clicked on a quest a second before or after me he would disappear. So for leveling with a friend (unless you are grinding) is difficult. I tried again a few weeks ago and while it was better we still had phasing problems. In a single dungeon though we would have little problems... but in delves we would have problems... its weird and I think it is something to do with how the megaservers are set up.
