How to NOT get your post locked - 5 Simple easy steps!
When I scroll down the page I'm seeing a lot of locked threads. Now I'm no angel...and sometimes posting for me is a balancing act between entertainment and not crossing the line...but I do my best to follow these 5 simple steps and "usually" my posts do not get locked.
1. If you are upset about something do not just rant. You can express how you feel but follow it up with solutions or ask others for advice for how they would deal with the situation. Demanding that you get your money back for instance will only get your post locked. Instead you could say "I was under the impression that things would operate a certain way, but now that things are not the way I perceived them initially to be...is there anything that can be done from my end to resolve this issue?" This way you are not blaming anyone, offering to help, and reaching out to others for advice.
2. Do not attack or belittle anyone. It's ok to disagree with someone's point of view as long as you are focused on the topic and not the person. The second you go after the person...the post will be locked. There are other ways to get your point across without ever having to belittle someone.
3. Do not spam post the same locked thread. You are only wasting your time, and they will see it. What value is there is spending time and energy to repost something that you know is not allowed and will be locked/removed again?
4. Never mention competitor's products or compare them to ESO. At the end of the day this is their site...and they're here to make money, just like their competitors are. Neither they nor their competition will allow you to spam promotions/advertisements/perspectives/etc that take away from their profits.
5. Ensure that every single thing you do in the forums is "constructive". Even if you are furious...you have to keep it constructive. If they do not feel like a post is moving in a constructive direction...they will lock it.
