PC and PS4 account questions

ronguiness_ESO
I currently play ESO on PC with a subscription. I am about to play ESO on PS4 also because most of my friends are console gamers. I want to keep playing on both platforms. My questions are
1. Do I need to merge my accounts?
2. Will merging my accounts get rid of my PC account? I want them both.
3. Will having a sub based account on PC roll over to PS4? Meaning if I pay for the PC account do I still have to pay for the PS4 account or does paying for an account count for both platforms?
Basically I want the benefits of subscription based accounts on both platforms but I don't want to lose my PC account.

Sorry if I made this more complicated then it needs to be. I have done multiple searches for the answers but can't seem to find the answer to the questions that pertain to my situation. Most people have migrated their PC account to a platform so they don't play on PC anymore. I want to play on both.
If anyone has any insight or some links to answers that might help me I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you in advance

    1. You need to link your PSN ID to an ESOTU account, but it doesn't have to be the same one that you use for PC; you could create a new one. Note though that any progress on PC will not be mirrored on PS4, and even if you link your existing ESOTU account you will need to start a new character (unless you took the Account Copy offer between 9 April and 9 May which copied your characters from PC; progress is still separate though).
    2. Your PC account will stay, but progress on PC and PS4 will be separate.
    3. ESO Plus is purchased per-platform. If you have it on PC, you will need to buy it again for PS4.
