One possible solution for guild management in the console versions of ESO

Kencan333ub17_ESO
One way to solve the issue of guild recruitment/management for the console version of ESO would be for the Devs to link to or directly give you information about an external "ESO guild app/channel" within the console system itself (just like how Halo has its own app under "my apps" called "Halo Channel" in the Xbox One) that gives you information about how to join guilds and also of the overall ESO situation in general so that everything is in one place.

Or what do u guys think? How else would this work?

Need a text chat system like pc. Not just for guilds but also for selling, zone chat, and pvp coordination.

well, i'm assuming the issue with that would be that they want everything stream-lined and easily accessible, after all this is console and not pc, clutter would be against console philosophy although it's understandable because i played on pc b4 too but console is just so much more enjoyable due having everything in one place.

an external app/channel for guild management might even be over-stepping the boundaries of this philosophy which is why i was asking if there were any better alternatives to keep everything in one place.

the other solution would be more direct: implement the ability to sort through categories so that you can go through a list in-game via the "Guilds" menu and see which guilds you want to join, but it would have to be a limited list so as not to be so overwhelming, after all everybody should have an equal chance at making their own guild successful.

Except theres a limit to streamlining. And theyve crossed it. Theyre now at a point where theyve stripped features that are essential to communication in a MMO for players without Mics or need to convey something without being obnoxious over comms.

Ive offered up my idea of a Guild Finder Tool that would allow Guilds and Players to click on things theyre providing/looking for in a Guild. PvP/PvE/Achievement/Raids etc. Along with a summary of the Guild using its 'About Us' section. If they intend on continuing on without the addition of text chat. Then its going to be something theyre going to need to add for the sake of Consoles Community.

Theyre idiots for thinking that limiting comms in any way shape or form would improve the experience of the game. When you internally test a mechanic where everyone has a Mic. Of course its going to appear as if its the greatest thing since sliced bread. But its woefully inadequate in practice with hundreds of thousands of players with and without mics.

just add text chat for guilds as an option
End the tedious inventory management game.

I'm going to say this first: I completely agree with you. They made a bad choice in implementing a chat system that relies solely on everyone having a mic to communicate freely. But they made a choice based on a lot of factors and a huge one was the fact that all new consoles (PS4 & XBONE) come with a basic headset. I'm sure they didn't make the choice lightly, but that's a huge piece of information to just leave out when thinking about why they did it.

But once again... I agree that they made the wrong choice, but MOST (i.e. new console NOT pre-owned console buyers) do have a headset to use, albeit a basic one. So unless they do make a change to the chat system, it's a situation we have to make the best of.

Im not against the VOIP for area and such. I think its quite innovative on its own. But when its thrown in as a whole sale replacement for the entirety of communication options in an MMO. Its a step backwards.
