..... Why would you actually want a symbol, number, or any thing such as that in your character name? You can use any character name, as it's bound to your account name. There is no such thing as a "taken name" in this game. I can understand stuff like à, ñ, í, and the like due to foreign languages use them, but why do you want 3, 9, ╝, ♀, ┌, π, ↓, or the like in your character name?

There are "taken" names.
For instance I got Kaide on PS4 along with Kaìde, Kaíde, etc.
On XBOX ONE the only option was Kaide....and yes...it's taken. However, I wish this was like Diablo and no names were ever taken...because every name was attached to an account. The setup they have is interesting....people only see your gamer-tag...yet you have a screen name that's hidden.
Some of us would pay real life money to reserve names. I'm surprised MMORPG's haven't caught onto that yet. For instance in World of Warcraft I used the name Kaine for almost a decade across 3 servers...I'd pay a lot of money for that name and a few others...but companies will never catch on and instead its a sprint for kids to grab as much land (names) as they can at launch...then get bored...and quit while the trophy names collect dust...instead of others players putting them to use
