World Raid Bosses and Random Events

Whether in Cyrodiil or another area on Tamriel, would you like to see world raid bosses/events spawn i.e.
- A giant sea monster attacking a harbor
- Deadra timed event invading a village
- Wandering Raid Boss in Cyrodiil

For those new to MMOs, a world raid boss meaning it would require a lot more than 5 players to conquer. In other games, adding world bosses to PvP zones is a bit challenging as opposing factions would have to fight off each other and the boss.

Daedra event in Cyro would be nice,

but not Worldboss that cause mass zerg there.

No better would be random mass siegen by daedras where all Faction have to help to defent,

i meen Cyrodiil is also attacked by daedras

My post from a while back.

    http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/125356/dragons-or-some-other-epic-battle-doesnt-have-to-be-a-dragon-that-is-just-an-example/p1

Most people in the post focused on the word "Dragon" and went crazy, that was just an example and in no way meant that is what it should be.

I would also like to see undaunted daily quest tied to killing world bosses so we have another undaunted Exp avenue outside of running dungeon groups. At my play time it's very very difficult to get a group together.

Why is it even a question really? Seems like this is something perfect for those who have completed the main storyline. Also if I am not mistaken you can travel to other factions lands after level 50 correct? Why couldn't a world boss bring together all 3 factions (non-pvp) as its something so horrific that the realms best champions have all been sent to take down the beast/person.

Also as a note this really would fit the living world and RPG aspect of this game.

One of the many areas Zos has dropped the ball is having real world bosses that cannot be fought solo or even with a small group. Also world events with different bosses and special drops/mounts/costumes and weapons and such.

With such a beautifully designed world and details in many aspects of the game it surprised me that so much for obvious aspects of an MMO have been left out, like challenging boss fights.

Deja Vu.. I swear there's been threads that mention this before, and I think yes ends up being most voted ;)

I personally would love this idea! Currently they have the small mini-anchor thing events that do happen throughout the world. As for random, I think due to the game, it would be random between a set of 12 different places, not truly random. It would be AWESOME for that to happen though, on a larger scale so it does take a large group to take down, I would love to see something take 10+ players (who are the level range of the zone they are in) to take it down.

[EDIT] I would love to see this in ALL zones - PvE and Cyrodiil

I think I even made this thread around launch time, but ZOS has had some staff changes so repetition is good. This is a content addition that I don't think requires too much work. They'd have to work out the loot tables but other than that...hopefully someone will see this again and put it on the agenda.

Anything to break up the monotony please.

The world boss events in Rift were a lot of fun. Would love to see some Molag Bal minions attacking towns in game in force and taking a large group of players to over come them.

On another note for things to break the monotony, a dungeon such as Darkness Falls would be an awesome addition imo.

I didn't play World of Warcraft for very long, but a multi-realm dungeon would be fun.

The Nexuses in Tera were lots of fun, although they were a bit repetitive. I'd love to see maybe a dozen or more different types of events with different mechanics necessary to overcome them. And probably not in Cyrodiil, considering the devs themselves are trying to prevent players from zerging at all costs.

All 3 of the ideas you mentioned actually sound REALLY fun!! Though I'm dying for new zones (*cough cough* Orsinium & Black Marsh), I'd be very happy as well with new, exciting content added to existing zones such as what you're suggesting. Especially content that introduces new or at least varied mechanics and strategies.

I prefer the option of tagging the boss to get credit for kill/eligible for loot. I'm not a fan of physically being in a group only because some people get left out.

So you are against having group based objectives? One of the big issues with the game is they made it so silly stupid almost all of it can be done solo, not requiring the MMO aspect to begin with.

Let me back up...if a weekly raid boss were added and an elite raid of 25 players take it down...it leaves out every other player that week. Look at games that did this...Like Vox from EverQuest comes to mind.
Group based objectives are great I am just saying for World bosses have it require a large number of player to defeat but don't physically require them to be in a raid to get kill credit for the boss. Kind of like how dolmen are right now, I can just show up kill stuff and still have access to the chest that drops. If you don't do it that way, you run the risk of elite guilds shutting out other players.

If you don't do it that way, then the boss needs a quicker respawn timer (which doesn't prevent what I mention above) or it needs to be instanced which kind of breaks my original point of world content added.

Thats exactly how it is in GW2, people show up at the spot when boss is about to spawn, fight it without bothering with groups and everyone who fought gets loot. Also boss scales up and gets stronger depending on how many people show up.
