Carzog's Demise quest broken?

I seem to have reached a problem with the Carzog's Demise quest that has essentially left me with no option but to start over with a new character.
It started with the bit where you must lead the spirit to the door. I did the first one without problem, but the second spirit wouldn't do anything even though we were standing exactly where the quest marker was. After quitting and reloading, and still having the same issue, I opted to Abandon Quest thinking this would let me start over. Instead it removed the quest entirely from my Journal, and since I've done every other side quest in the area, there's now nothing in my Quest Log and seemingly no way of getting it back. I can't even sail away from the area, so it looks like I'm stuck for good.
If there's a fix for this, please let me know.
