(Console) Target Reticle Offset: Can it be adjusted?

I seem to be having a bit of a hard time during combat. I almost always end up swinging 4-5 times before I realize that I am not placing the right aligned reticle on the target. Instead I am instinctively placing the target visually in front of my character, which then seems to cause me to miss often.

Is there a way to adjust this offset? Or toggle it to center somehow?

The only way I know is to hold the d-pad and use the right analog to zoom out to third person view in which it then centers the reticle as well.

I don't think that is correct. I normally run in 3rd person which is the view that the reticle is offset.

Though that is nice to know about the d-pad and right stick to zoom in/out.

@Cuyler which way on the d-pad for the zooming?

Unless you're talking about camera centering/offset. Apparently from other threads, this isn't an adjustable option on consoles atm.

Well then. That certainly will take some adjusting to then. I wonder what the reason for the offset was. It just isn't natural.

If you press down on the D-pad and pull back on the right analog stick, that will make the camera move back and center behind your character in 3rd person.
    Quoted directly from GinA :D

Which way? I will guess right. Although she only says the camera centers behind the character and doesn't specifically refer to the reticle being centered as well. @ZOS_GinaBruno can you clarify if this is the reticle centered as well?

yeh, we felt the same on pc.
Took us almost a year to get them to put in options for that.

I know. I was happy when it was added to PC camera options.

Here's the thread I was talking about: http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/174356/any-way-to-center-your-character-on-the-screen-in-the-console-version-i-know-pc-has-it

Thanks again! I saw that thread mention GOW which was exactly what I thought this reflected. Yuck.

Though it does sound like if I go far enough out, it may center it. I will have to check that out.

I suppose this thread should be closed and linked the other, existing one then:

All good, buddy. It seems to be such a basic option. I often disregard questioning ZOS on these things. Logic doesn't really seem to be sought-after trait there...

The way I adjusted.... by playing 90% of the time in 1st person view.
