Looks Like Console Launch Is Going Splendidly

I'm not a console user myself but reading through the forums seem to suggest that the console launch isn't going quite as well as one may have hoped. Wonder how long before they iron out all the bugs and we can start talking about new content.

Sarcastic title, I'm guessing. That or massive typo.

The bulk of the console threads I'm noticing are people requesting features added (text chat being the most popular). Most of the login problem posts are being consolidated into the 18 page thread.

I just finished an after dinner session on the xbox (dinner was delicious, thank you for asking) and I ran into very few glitches now compared to earlier in the day. I was pleasantly surprised how well most things were working. Sure, voice chat is down, but I remember with PC launch there were times that social features were brought offline too in the first few days.

The log-in issues seem to have been worked out and I've been enjoying the content since early this morning. I haven't run into any major issues so far aside from the desire for a few additional features that people are discussing elsewhere. No different than any other MMO launch day really, and I can think of several that were far worse.

I have had no problems, except I need to work out how to stop from being able to hear other players chatting whilst I am playing, because right now I am wanting to play solo so just want game noises. I am sure I will work out how to silence them soon.

Other than that, everything has worked perfectly for me so far. Sometimes the game slows a little in town sites but moreover, it all works very well.

I have to say, I am disappointed to have to relearn all the buttons on the XBOX ONE controller again. So many of them have changed from Skyrim. No doubt they will become second nature to me fairly soon, but I still want to switch between ESO and Skyrim on my 360 sometimes and that will make it a bit of a cerebral challenge for my aging brain!!

PC gamers paid a sub fee and endured game breaking bugs for a year to make console a great experience and it still was a terrible launch???

How is that even possible? They had all of our moneys we paid to pay a year long broken beta. Oh wait, even though almost everyone reported bugs day one, the were only fixed about 3 months later. So console was launched with bugs we discovered three months ago when they were magically turned into features. :)

naw... the people you see here are the ones having issues. The VAST majority of people are having a good experience. Sure, there are log-in issues but that happens with just about every single multiplayer game on console for the first few days or so.
What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.
    That's right... Horse.

Go to their FB if you want to see complaints. A lot of the players are posting there.

Most people are getting the following:
    - Error 318 (message spam error) - you know the one that has nothing to do with spamming messages.
    - Long Load Screens
    - Severe Lag/stuttering screens
    - Consistent Game Crashes
    - Blocked Screen
    - Voice Chat not functioning
Far too many characters to list any more.

Because console, while similar, has its own kind of hurdles to it. However, I have noticed a few complaints about bugs we PC players saw during our launch.
As for the OP, I would say we have at least one week (to a month) before everything is smoothed out enough to refocus on PC.
E3 will most likely come and go before we get much attention.

Id be lying if I said I wasnt expecting the worst because I was. However it seems most of the issues were for very early in the morning-around midday. I bought my game around 11am and started playing (after the install) at around 1:30pm. I encountered not one issue of logging in. I did get kicked out ONCE around mid afternoon, but I just logged back in and that was that. Overall I am very impressed with this game and fail to see where the complaints are founded.

Been having a great time. I'm back in beautiful Tamriel again.

Sure there have been some log-in issues and a few times I've had to re-log to get a quest giver to come out of stealth, but these are fairly normal issues at launch for any title this big and with this many people banging on the door to get in at the same time.

It will continue to be smoothed out and all will be fine in Nirn.

Even activated my ESO+ so the next "limited time" mount drop happens, I'll be ready! (Need to get rid of this Imp pony)

Launch was flawless for me. I expected some troubles logging in, afterall so many folks logging or trying to log in at the same time was bound to cause a hiccup or two.
But see I don't expect absolute perfection from day one. Bugs and such are part of every game on release.
Keep up the briliant work devs!! :p

This has been a better MMO launch than most. I was able to put in about 12 hrs of gametime on day 1. How many other MMO's can we say that about on launch day? Along the same thought, when Defiance was released on the 360 it took about a week before you could game 2-4 hrs in one setting. For the most part, good job ZOS.

Every MMO launch is buggy. Comes with the territory. People forget that even WoW had a notoriously buggy launch. That being said, ZOS has made some ill-advised decisions that certainly haven't helped. Going with open-mic voice chat instead of push-to-talk, not stress-testing the game with an open beta before the launch, etc. were unfortunate mistakes. But they can be ironed out over time (and I suspect they will).

Other than having to wait about an hour before I could log in at midnight on launch, I've had next to no issues at all. Crashed a couple of times in around 12 hours which is nothing. Not had any lag other than maybe a touch very briefly a couple of times.

Every game that is online has issues. Given how negative the community appears I general, I was expecting the worst and almost didn't buy the game at all after reading on here. Compared to a lot of other games, this has been a nigh on perfect launch and I've loved playing. Only bad thing is I have to go back to work tomorrow so can't sit and play for hours at a time but I'll live with that.

A side note though - this is probably the single most negative community I have seen. Not everyone, seen some really helpful posters but having browsed the forum on and off for the last month or so, I was surprised to see just how bad it was. So much negativity, complaining and also snideyness/bitterness towards console players. Hope the console community steers away from that.

So, in order to get new content as pc users, we waited for the console launch and now we must wait again for console bug fixes...This really is BS...

Well, community is not that bad, but you got to understand. Put people into a game with a lot of bugs, lack of content overtime, and other weird stuff, let them ask for fix/changes/content for months without speaking to them and you got this community.
People totally disappointed by ZOS and their lack of communication but still hoping someday things will get better.
So my guess is, once ZOS starts to consider their customers like real customers, and try to do things better, maybe the community will lose is bitterness (I definitely hope so).
