So I was looking at gamestop webpage just to see if I could find what people are saying about the game other than here on the forums,
when I found this!

The Elder Scrolls Online features the largest PvP battles seen in a major online RPG. The game supports hundreds of onscreen players in epic battles. Swords and axes collide, spells and powers illuminate the ground and sky, and fires rage on embattled stronghold walls. Will you survive these epic battles? Can your overwhelming force take the keep, or will you be forced to retreat?

The Elder Scrolls Online is built to accommodate hundreds of players onscreen at once.

Now for anyone that plays pc knows this is complete bs ! Try having 300 people on your screen and see what happens!
So have there been any big battles yet how is the lag in pvp on console?

Not exactly you can certainly fit 300 players on your screen. They don`t say that it will be lag free or it will make any sense. They even make it an open question.

`Will you survive these epic battles? `
Most of the time, yes because you do not take any damage anymore since the lag is to high .

Well I would say that if it supports it, then it should be lag free?

300+ players USED to be lag free and fun. That was before ZOS realized that making decisions on the client side is opening a huge barn door for hackers and botters.

And instead of fixing their network and server code to use UDP based transfer and a prediction based client server/model they "patched" their existing network code which kept the bots at bay but added the LAG we all have come to love so much.

I'm waiting to see what happens when people start heading to Cyrodil and the console server crashes/freezes up. People are already reporting lag on the Consoles and they aren't even in Cyrodil yet.....

It says the largest... Does that have to mean 300?

It is a sad state of the game now...

Cyrodiil has had what three population nerfs and the removal of the deer and torchbugs and still doesn't function anywhere near what it used to.
I do hope they can find something that works so we can have larger populations and deer back. :disappointed:

I wonder if CCP's "Brain in a box" code idea would be something they could use as well.

It was possible to have more than one hundred players in one large keep battle without lag or real performance problems on the PC before patch 1.2.3 was released and before spamming all kinds of AoE abilities that trigger far too many effects on far too many players characters at the same time became the prefered playstyle of a majority (damage, heals, buffs, purges, debuffs, on character and ground-based, stealing and recovering resources: so many things happen every second - and happen continously because of zergballing - so the server and the game client, in the end, can't handle it anymore).

Unfortunately, the current mechanics still allow people to just stand together in a group on the same spot, stack damage shields and nearly unlimited heal over time effects, and spam purge to remove all negative status effects. So people still do that (often in well-organized groups) and the largest zergball usually wins. Nobody cares if that makes the whole campaign lag.

Not really I just said 300 as there are three sides, so by epic that would mean all three sides fighting it out.
I guess it can be said you could have 100 against 1 and you would have hundreds on the screen but that surely isn't
    epic?

And I'm aware that it used to be somewhat ok but I think its misleading as the state of the game is in now.I'm very curious
to see a video by gorthax :) of what console pvp is like if he could get in.

Forgot to add I would say DAOC would beat this game in wide open pvp with a lot of people in one area!
Funny that game is nearly 20 years old?
