Same issue on my ps4 I live like 6 blocks away from this dude and we weren't even in the same server? Let alone adding to in game friends list..every time I go to add through the social thing in menu it says I already did yea well where in the *** is his name then lol god I hope this fix this not being able to play with my friends is really defeating the point of this game..

I am having the same problem, in the na server I can't see or play with some ppl, but when we play in the Europe server I can play with some of the ppl I couldn't in the na server, but some of the ppl I could play with in the na server are the reverse and are non exsistant in the Europe server.

Still having the same issue cant see any of my friends , then my brother makes a account and he can see everyone that we both know

I found when you reach level 10 make a guild and my friend had to be level ten then we join same guild and then we were able to play online together..

The only work around at the moment is to delete your friend off your friends list on the console whilst you have ESO running in the background then re add them.

You remove them and have your friend remove you, simply add them again once you have both unfriended each other, go back into the game and then you should both appear on each others friends tab within ESO.

Same issue on my part and the part of friends I am playing with on one of my characters. When we try to add to friends list it tells us "friend is already on list" but there aren't any names showing up.

I created a new character today and the list shows on that particular one.

I figure give it time while they work on resolving it. Grouping up with friends you want to play with is a work around.

I have friends on my friend list that I can send in-game mail to, but they are unable to send me mail. It says that the "character does not exist"

I try to join my friends and it tells me character not found and the same goes for them and they don't show up on my friends list either. It's disappointing that's why I bought the game.

I'm having this same issue. My friends list is completely black, I know for a fact that 3 of my friends have played this game and it just says 0/0 friends. Also I can send them mail in game but when they try to send it to me it just says "this player does not exist" or something along those lines. I've given them a while because it was just released, but I'm starting to get annoyed.

I'm having the same issue. Thanks to everyone on here who has posted different ideas on how to fix it. It might be more helpful than emailing The ESO support. I emailed them got a reply that everything should be fine if not to email them back within 4 days. I did so as soon as I saw that the issue was not resolved and haven't heard anything from them. That was 3 days ago. I'm not mad. I understand that patience is going to be key with this game but no reply at all is pretty ***. Game looks and plays great tho.

I'm having the same problem. We have two TV's sitting right next to each other and a friend and I will both be playing, but I cant see her and she cant see me on the friends list.

I have found a fix for this issue. I just have to snap friends on my xbox, then remove and readd my friend from xbox friends list. I have to do this on both mine and my friends xbox (which is a pain). Once you do it it seems to work fine after that.

I deleted my friend from the psn and them send him a request and the problem was resolved and now they appeared online and we can group up. Hope this help u

on same server for several hours ...check
mutual friends ... check
NOTHING , still have to manually enter gamertag, what a pain.

Until today my friends list in game worked fine. As of today only one person is showing up.

since todays 1.0.5 patch i've gone from 5 friends in my list to absolute zero. i mean come on this needs sorting. Do you realize what a pain in the butt it is to send gear to your friends when their not in your friends list.
