Console transfers

Yes, I know this subject has been discussed before but I've been in the process of moving and dealing with a death in the immediate family. I must have missed the email (that was sent, i have it but it came on a really bad day) about character transfers. I've gladly rebought the game for x1 and am not threatening to cancel my PC sub or anything. I've been a loyal ESO supporter since day 1. However, i feel like i missed my window for free transfer and would gladly PAY to transfer over to console if possible. When will individual transfers be open for sale, if at all?

It isn't the end of the world if they won't open them up so please no one be rude and tell me "HAHA you missed it" i get it, but sometimes RL comes first. I love the game and can't wait to show friends and family the world on x1, but i'd luv it if my main character could join me in the adventure.

If not, does anyone know if the account rewards such as unique pets and mount (tiger) will be available on my linked account even without my main? I could live without him and start over, but i'd hate to lose my rewards for being a loyal member of this community simply because i was dealing with a lot of RL during that month. Thanks ESO for launching on consoles, and please, allow those of us who missed our window for whatever reason a chance to bring our favorite toons onto console to play with friends!

Specifically in answer to your questions, they have not said they will be offering fully-paid transfers in the future, and no, you won't have access to any of your loyalty rewards since they are tied to the PC/Mac servers.

If they do offer transfers in the future, I would like it to look something like this:

    • Account Server Switch -- £20. This would take all characters from one server, and put them on the other. (NA -> EU and EU -> NA at the same time, for any platform, but only within that platform.)
    • Account Platform Transfer -- £25. This would take all characters from both servers on one platform, and put them on the servers of the other platform. (PC -> PS4/XB1, PS4 -> PC/XB1, XB1 -> PC/PS4)

If they ever work out how to move characters separately from accounts (which would be great for PTS), then you could have a Character Server Switch for £12 or a Character Platform Transfer for £15.

In-game achievements will transfer directly, but I read somewhere that they will not translate to Xbox Gamerscore achievements (or PS4 trophies). Can't say for sure, but it won't take long to find out, as some people who have transferred will be playing soon, and will either have, or not have, the achievements.

Sorry for the unfortunate events that you've endured, I hope you've kept your head high and your friends and family close HUGS from the ESO community!

In terms of the character transfer, unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any plans at this point to allow transfer later on. Basically, as of now you're stuck with a brand new account - nothing at all will transfer for you.

    Ok :'(

It's bad if they don't translate, don't want to redo some of them ...

Thank you all for the replies. I do hope they open up paid transfers down the road as it would mean a lot to those of us who missed it for one reason or another (RL for me).

That said, why don't my legacy rewards apply for consoles too if i have them on PC and linked my account? I can link over, just not transfer my main... but shouldn't my legacy rewards come with the linked account itself, and not the main character?

"Linked account" is bad naming really. Your PC account is still essentially separate from your console account, as your "console account" is based primarily on your XBL Gamertag/PSN ID, not your Zenimax account. The linked Zenimax account just exists to tell your XBL/PSN account how to get into the game.

That's disappointing to hear. I could understand missing the transfer window, and will admit that despite RL circumstances that fell on me and i missed it... but it really sucks hard that all my legacy rewards for sticking with ESO since launch won't come with me to console launch. Even though i have to start over, my legacy rewards should be there.

I'm pretty sure from a business standpoint that offering paid transfers in the future will be an option. For those ppl who didn't immediately qualify at this time, give it a little time for new console players to catch up, then we should start to see options for additional transfers from PC.

If they ever work out how to move characters separately from accounts (which would be great for PTS), then you could have a Character Server Switch for £12 or a Character Platform Transfer for £15.

If they do offer it in the future it would be more like $20 per character, not $20 for all the characters. It is a reasonable rate and what some other MMOs charge.

Sure, but I said £20, not $20, for account switch.
So in USD my suggestion would extend to be:
    • Account Server Switch -- $30
    • Account Platform Transfer -- $40
    • Character Server Switch -- $20
    • Character Platform Transfer -- $25

I think we Console transferers are bugged, theres 4 campaign same as it was on PC and they are all empty, even its prime-time.

I honestly was planning on rerolling with friend's anyway to experience ESO again from scratch because i love the game, but it's disappointing that my legacy rewards for sticking with ESO since day 1 won't accompany me to consoles. Is it bugged, or do they not intend to allow the legacy pets/mounts to hit consoles at all? I feel like my legacy items should come with my account to consoles even if i missed the character transfer window.

The account numbers are low. I also doubt it would be a copy but an actual move.

Agreed that it would be a move not a copy. Having never had an account transfer on any MMO, I'm not really sure what an appropriate cost would be, but I think $160 would be too much (ie, $20 per character).
