So that's my first time reading those "sermons of Vivec" and they really are terrible, terrible writing. They seem like someone got really high and tried to imitate Lord Dunsany. I want to punch in the face whoever wrote them.

As for the phallic imagery in ESO, well... I'll just say that sometimes people see what they want to see.

I wouldn't be surprised if MK was high when he wrote them. But despite being difficult to read, I wouldn't call them bad writing... They're just so very cryptic because of all the references. Take a look at RottenDeadite's New Whirling School, it's very helpful in getting through the sermons.
