Why is the Ignore number capped--can we fix this please?

When 2.0 came out, Zone chat, at least in Auridon, started to gravitate away from WTS and WTB and towards ***, farts, momma jokes, and other enlightened topics.

I wasn't too worried, b/c it just took me about 4-5 days of utilizing my Ignore option and Auridon was again a reasonably mature, friendly place again. God knows what that place is like without it today though.

But then I suddenly encountered the warning 'You cannot ignore more people'. And over the past week I've been witness to lovely conversations between misogynists and homophobes, not to mention been treated to an aromatic array of ***, ***, and farts while searching for groups.

It's so pleasant to log on into the middle of a Nirncrux discussion with gems like: "She must have killed herself after she realized what a shitbird she spawned."

So, my point. Surely there's no coding or engine problem that prevents us from ignoring more than one hundred people or whatever the current number is set at? Will we somehow cause more lag or something if we're able to ignore more than 'x people'?

And ZOS, if you need to edit my post to remove the words from the forum board because they're offensive, then shouldn't you also give me the ability to ignore people that use them in zone chat? Let them use it, by all means. Just give me the ability to ignore it without arbitrary caps on how many I can ignore.

Thanks in advance. ;)

With the subscription gone the zone chat has become basically useless. This thread now has me concerned about the console version as I plan on switching. I imagine i'll be ignoring or muting several players an hour.

The higher you get in level the more mature the gamers get.

Semi-retired till the lag is fixed.

Love the Packers, Bourbon, and ESO...one of those will eventually kill me.

Agree, not sure why there is a cap on this, there's easily more than 100 ijiits out there, esp now that the kiddies are out of school.
Fortunately I dont spend much time in lower level zones these days but I remember hitting that cap back when the gold spammmers were active.

remove a bunch of the ignores on your list. Over time they have moved to other zones, quit etc. Not sure why every game has a limit on ignores (guessing there really is a technical issue as they all have limits) but good chance people you put on list a while ago are long gone

Generally I agree that the particularly immature are in low level zones, however I posted this after a Craglorn exchange that went on for 10 mins, and with how fast some people can go from Lv 1 to VR14, Craglorn's far from immune to this stuff now.

If there truly is a technical reason for an ignore cap, that would be very unfortunate. Managing my ignore list manually sounds like a terrible time to spend in-game.
