Account-wide Riding Skill.

It takes 6 months to max out your riding skill, this is an insane amount of time, so to me it makes no sense that each character has to level its riding skill all the way up from nothing. My suggestion is to make riding skill account-wide so we can all enjoy the mounts we collected on all our alts.

    Not this again...

What's next? Skyshards account-wide? Alliance rank account wide? Skill points account wide? Levels account wide?

Fu... uhm... forget that sh... uhm... stuff!

If you want something, work for it; if you want something for an alt, work on it on that alt.

No reason your newly made breton mage should ride well just because your old khajiit knight learned all the mad riding skillz!

Ever since they gave us an bonus with the champoin points, every so often some people mpop upü and want all account wide so they can "enjoy" everything on every character without having to play for it; And then a week later the very same people whine about how the game is boring since there's nothing to play for...

ZOS's suggestion is to add riding lessons to the cash shop, so players could spend $100+ in one day to max a horse. And how would account wide riding skill work unless all your characters share one collective hive mind... hmm maybe they do...

If they're going to charge $150 to level your ride, the LEAST ZoS could do is make the horse skills account wide. Of course, if they charged a reasonable price to begin with, like $15 total, maybe this wouldn't be worth complaining about.

Personally, I think it should stay on a per character basis. In addition to being a form of character investment (one that only requires time and gold), riding skill leveling is also one of the most used gold sinks in the game (along with kiosk bids and bag/bank upgrades).I see no pressing reason to change it.

No thanks, I want my characters to earn their own achievements and skills, including preferably existing account-wide stuff like dye unlocks.

As I recall it costs a couple hundred gold per day per point. So no, it doesn't cost 150 dollars to level your ride. It costs that if you CHOSE to do it. See why we worry about giving people an inch? Cuz you want to take a mile now. See how this works?

I've got 5 characters, I'm in the early stages of planning a 6th and considered making at least 1 more to check out the NA server.

I don't think it would make any sense for riding skill to be account-wide. As other people have said just because one of your characters knows it doesn't mean all the rest would too. In my mind my characters are friends, in spite of the different alliances, they share a bank and crafting mats/gear after all, but even so they don't all know everything each other knows, especially learned skills. Otherwise top of my list would be using each others class skills, not riding skills.

Also to me the real money cost is irrelevant. That didn't even exist until a day ago, and I'm highly sceptical that many people will level riding that way. So to talk about the cost of levelling riding entirely in real money terms is, at best, ignoring 1/2 the options and at worst deliberately misrepresenting the facts to make the current situation sound worse than it is. Sure it costs a lot of gold, but it seems like the time investment is the real barrier to most people.

But also do you really need maxed riding skill on every single character? Maybe over time if you've got the gold it's a nice thing to have, but it's not like it's a major handicap to go without it.

All my toons do share one collective hive mind aswell as soul. See no matter on which toon i play it's still ME one and the same person controlling its actions. Horse training brings nothing to game, other than oportunity for ZOS to milk cash from us. Log in, click train button, log out, move to the next to toon rinse and repeat. Its not fun, its not content, its a chore.

I have 7 alts, 5 of which I play regularly, and I have NO interest in making anything account wide. For two simple reasons:
    1) It would remove the need/want to play a certain character. As it is now, I am "forced" to log in on the character and feed its mount, research items, complete writs, etc. If this weren't the case, there would be characters that I wouldn't log in to for long periods of time (and they would miss me! ).
    2) Work for it! Achievements/ranks/skills etc are all earned, and so it should be. You shouldn't automatically be a pro rider from the beginning.

Vote NO on account wide!! (Dyes are enough!)

I like that my characters have different riding skills....
