Which do you prefer, Tri-Buffs (food that increase max health, stamina, and magica) or Tri-pots (Potions that increase regeneration of health, stamina, and magica)? Also why?

Depends on the situation. I use regen while grinding.

    Depends on playstyle and build.

The drinks are good for some classes like Nightblade because they actually get more bank for their buck due to increase in Stam regen, especially for Bosmer.

I think you mean to say tri-drinks. We call the columbine, bugloss, mountain flower potions tri-pots.

No. According to everyone. And to the dictionary.

A drink is a drink (food in liquid form that boost regeneration)
Food is food (food in solid form that increases base stats)
Potions are potions (liquid dedoctions made from plants, with various effects depending on the plants)

A "tri" of any of these is one that combines three different effects. A "tri-pot" is a potion that combines three effects.

Also, food effect and drink effects are not stackable, while both are stackable with potion effects.

Thx. but all I was asking what is a most perferd - max stat vs Increase regeneration on all three stats - stam, mag and health boosting food or drink.

Believe me, you don't WANT to be locked like a rock ! :-)

Now if you want to LOOK like a rock actually no but there is a workaround : use an invisibility potion and stealth near a rock. That will pretty much make you look like a rock :open_mouth:

OK. That's what we were trying to clarify.

Because the way you put it in the OP, it sounded that you were contrasting Purple food with tri-pots, as opposed to contrasting them with Purple drinks.

Now that it's clear you meant drinks, I do generally use food, but I have used drinks on occasion. I usually have purple food and drinks in my inventory, as well as a couple of blue foods and use them depending on the situation.

Tri pots because your rate of return comes out to more resources than just the flat increase. Excuse me if I used the incorrect terminology there.

But it depends on your class and build, really.

Drinks for PvP. Already get a health buff but not large enough you can't get a good combo off to instantly kill someone. I would use 1/3 of my Magicka to kill a player.

Food for PvE. Bosses have high health 65,000+. You'll need as much resource as possible before you drink a potion.

My current main char has high regen numbers already so for me it's food all the way to have a larger pool.

I can block and doge for ages while casting siphoning spells to keep my resources filled.

I don't use tri-stat food as health/stam or health may provide more usable stats except when on a magics character in cyrodiil since the extra stam can be helpful sometimes.
