Assassin build for noob

LotusBladedancer
Hi, totally new to the game and wanted to build an Assassin/stealthy type of character (Always loved that style of play) but not sure how my build would perform for real, so I hope some experienced players can give me some advice (and please point out my noob glaring errors) :-)

2x Dual Wield daggers - race Khajiit or Wood Elf

Bar 1 - for single target - Shadow disguise, Surprise attack, Killer blade, camouflage hunter, Ambush - Ultimate Soul Harvest

Bar 2 - For groups - Ambush, Sap, Steel tornado, Killer blade, Quick cloak - Ultimate Shooting stars

Stamina - 27 Magic - 16 Health - 6 (No idea about these values, copied them from a Web build)

Would this work? or would I struggle to even beat low level mobs?

As I am new, all advice appreciated :-)

Forgot to add ... This will be for PvE .. Well, until I understand how the game works more.

So, this is obviously for the nightblade class. I just want to clarify that for any other noobs who might be reading this since you didn't mention it in your post.

First of all, for a noob, it's not so bad of a build. Particularly your first bar. Your second bar is ok too, if it was your first bar...

Which brings me to a second point- having some range ability. If you're doing pve, you're going to need to do some damage from range distance during a lot of boss fights, or else you're gonna get smashed by some sort of aoe or boss cleave. Right now, using a dual wield bar versus trash group mobs, and bow ranged damage on single boss fights works well for stamina-based users. I would recommend learning the bow skill line as you level, and use it when running dungeons.

As far as your main dual wield bar, it's a fun way to level with that build. This build also works well in pvp. I leveled a nightblade with a similar build. It's important to take advantage of your sneak damage and damage out of stealth. Putting points in dw passives while using daggers, and gaining the crit bonus from the Khajiit passive will increase your critical % substantially. Add the thief mundus stone and your crit % will be ridiculously high. While leveling, it is possible to one-shot mobs your level and a little higher with a Surprise Attack out of sneak.
It's important that with this dw single-target build that you take advantage of Cloak. Cloaking will pause enemies in their place while you are invisible, giving you enough time to crit them hard with your Surprise Attack and stun them while you heavy attack them down, or keep clubbing them with SA. But be careful, this build has limited defense and limited healing. Keep block up while casting and steer clear of any enemy heavy attack.

Your second dual wield bar look great for dungeon aoe. With a few tweaks you can improve your damage and really start to mow down some daedra. The Sap is good because it gives you a major weapon damage buff with a minor group heal. After you get that buff you can spin the 'wheel of death' and Steel Tornado the group down; it is the best stamina aoe in the game. I would suggest substituting Cloak for another buff of some kind. Defensive or offensive. Something like Grim Focus, which will increase stamina regeneration, or Blur which will increase dodge chance and mitigate some of that incoming mob damage. Camo Hunter would be good on this aoe bar as well, giving you bonus damage against daedra (a lot of daedra creep in dungeons) and increasing crit chance. And then of course switching to your second bar (bow bar) for boss fights.

There are addons and macros you can use to quickly swap skills and gear accordingly. So you don't have to use two dw bars. With one press of a keyboard button you can switch the skills on your first bar from single target dual wield, to aoe dual wield, in a pre-programed macro.

While leveling, I would suggest you put more points in stamina than any other attribute. It wouldn't hurt to put all points in stam as you level, unless you find yourself dying a lot or unable to survive a boss fight. Use health potions and eat health food.

    Have fun and good luck!
