You don't want the Emperor Skill line unlocked, nor do you want the Buffs the Emperor gets, nor do you want the title that comes with the accomplishment?
But, if your motivation is just the Achievement, then you can get one of those too

Whaaaaat?
You are saying people are not going to buy the game because they can't get the Emperor achievement?
Have you been to PvP?

Yeah I know a number of people in real life who cancelled because of this(XBL/PSN). There are a number on my PSN that won't touch the game now either . They be called trophy hunters and they only play games to increase their trophy score as that's what's fun for them.
But getting Emperor is not *that* hard. If you like PvP, it's probably on par with the Master Angler achievement in terms of time invested.
I grinded it out solo, took me 16 hours though then asked my guild to help take the keeps. However, it wont be like that on console it's hard to tell what will happen. But it wont be as hard to flip emperor most likely.JarekReanimated wrote: »But getting Emperor is not *that* hard. That can be done solo though right? From what I've read it seems that Emperor is highly depended on so many other players and factors. If it was something that can be done solo then players would grind it out.

Yep, there are a lot of people who bought the hannah montana game just because it's an extremely easy platinum/100%. They can be ridiculous. But it definitely affects sales.
Trine 2 is another example where you didn't even have to finish the game, you could platinum it by the 4th or 5th chapter and lots of people never played until the end. So when they released the complete edition they changed a lot of the requirements so people would actually be forced to play the whole game.

I'm still getting the game and don't really care about becoming emperor in the grand scheme of things because I know I'll still enjoy the game and get a lot of hours out of it, but I do think it's unfair that an already extremely difficult accomplishement is made more difficult because it gives transferred players an early edge, or so it seems. Like I said in the OP, I've not played the game outside of the beta.
It just seems to be getting a lot of backlash from people that's all.

You were not clear about that. Yes, anyone who transfers over will have a leg up on being Emperor, but that applies to all PvP and Trials too. However, being Emperor is just something that takes time more than anything else. I don't think the transfers will matter all that much past the first couple of months, if that long.
A good Guild can do more to make someone an Emperor than the Skills or CPs that they have.
Well, wait until they find out about the Grand Overlord Achievement.
