My preferred option would be:
uninstanced player-built towns in a vast open MAP akin to sanboxifying (and MMOing) the game. Free form land to create the cities however we wish. Complete with personal vendors and wayshrines and crafting stations etc etc.
a mix of old SWG and the new survival games (rust, ark survival etc).
I know that this will never happen though.
Interesting but a number of people have voiced an interest in showing off their houses which is difficult to when instanced. If you ignore the "Showing Off" Aspect then I think it's not a bad idea, about on a par with the "Door to Oblivion" housing some people suggestMy first step to this was HOW this would be implemented and I cam up with a few ideas.
- Instanced Islands:
I like that but the "showing off" issue still hampers it.- Harborage House:
This is similar to the Door to Oblivion concept that some have proposed otherwise alternatively equal to the current Guild Trader setup.- Buying Plots Of Land:
I want a Guild Hall setup regardless of whether Player Housing is involved. I think it might be possible the "Log Horizon" Way where it's a bank and corridors with doors. The doors lead to instanced space which is rented from the bank. Hmmm.... That's be an interesting way to introduce every Guild having a "private" (in that it's not seen by everyone passing through the area) Guild Trader only accessible by entering in the Guild Zone.- Guild Halls:
Woolenthreads I mentioned that you would be able to take people to your instanced island house if you were the leader of the group, if that is 'showing off' enough.
