IC:
House Gawad Du is a Rivenspire noble house, formerly known as the Barony of Glendu until its fall from court favor over 50 Nirn years prior to the opening, 2nd Era time frame. Within Rivenspire, the House has a dark stigma of alleged past Daedra worship, and necromancy associated with either family name. Publicly, the family Matron, Lady Leannan Gawadunen, changed the family name from Glen Du Gawad (Old Breton for Blood of the Dark or Night Glen), to Gawad Du (Black Blood) as a shameful acknowledgement of the family's fall from grace.

The Glengawad noble family line extends back some two hundred years from the present time, rising to some local fame from its wealth and participation in the noble struggles of supremacy before the current time. During those days, the family was awarded Baronial title and lands from the Crown.

Lady Leannan has recently pledged the family's support for the Rivenspire Crown, and the Crowns of the Daggerfall Covenant against our common enemies, the Worm Cult of Maninmarco, treasonous rebel or other outlaw groups within the Covenant, the Ebonhart Pact and the Altmeri Dominion.

Our loyal service in these dark times has resulted in the Barony being bestowed on us again and plans are being drawn for a new fortress in new lands! Come join the fun and challenge!

Gouiziegezh Eo Renadur Ar Gremm.
Knowledge is Power. (Old Breton)

OOC:
House Gawad Du is a role play, PvP, PvE player guild. We are first and foremost, role players. But we enjoy, and cater to, all aspects of the Elder Scrolls Online experience.
All the races of Tamriel are open to members, and we do have vampires and werewolves in the guild as well, and an IC theme on where they fit in.

Do you have to be a vampire, werewolf or Breton noble in order to be part of the guild? Nope! There is a multiplicity of roles to be filled. Guards, smiths, servants, mages, various types of skullduggery folk, Priests and Priestesses of the Eight, all are sought to help create a more believable and vibrant community within the guild.

We are an RP guild centered around an ostracized Breton noble family. Because the Breton nobility shuns us and will no longer intermarry with us due to unsavory rumors of necromancy and even more dire dabblings in the dark magics we have taken to recruiting outsiders, even those of other races, to strengthen our line and to give us the flexibility to meet the challenges of these trying times. Even those not specifically of Gawadunen blood can rise within our ranks based upon their ability. Those few who truly become one of us may even be adopted into the family proper. And while hatred rages between vampire and werewolf as a commonplace, our House has long seen the wisdom in allying with our wolf-cousins, understanding that the "curse" of lycanthropy is a compliment to the "curse" of vampirism and that together we may succeed where others fail.

Please feel free to contact me here or in game with questions! :)

Updated OP today. We've been here since launch and are still going strong with players spanning both coasts of the US and a few other more interesting time zones as well. Lots of crafters, provisioners, experienced dungeon runners as well as lore-knowledgeable RPers happy to help newer people out! We'd love to hear from you!
