console tranfer 30 days really?!

Me and 6 other friends bought this game at release to transfer to console,, we all thought that you would just transfer on xbox on release of the game. here i find out that the period to transfer is already over?! i can not believe the time period is already over and they only gave us 30 days. i played this game all the way to vet 14 and was subbed most of the time the game was out, spent a crap ton of money on this game to get shafted on a tiny 30 day window to transfer. i missed the transfer because i was playing smite on xbox which let me transfer my account no problem and still lets ppl transfer their account no 30 day window crap ,, and they did their transfer while its out not before ,, ppl are not going to know about transfers before the game comes out they see the games out and then will want to transfer.
none of my 6 friends knew the transfer time period was up already. none of us search eso daily we just play on xbox mostly. how do you guys expect most console players to know about this offer if its not on xbox dashboard or somewhere ppl can see it.
i know they sent out emails but not everyone got them and not everyone checks that particular email all the time ,, mine is an alternate email that i don't check very often same case with other ppl i know.
this promotion was poorly done and feels like a shaft becuase console players are not going to be kept in the loop on this and i have to buy the game full price agn... after all the money i spent into this game hits hard.
once this game comes out on console theres going to be alot of ppl on here wondering why they cant tranfer.
release day your going to get alot of how do i tranfer my acount and theres going to be alot of ppl pissed off.
start over and pay 60 bucks...haha got cha sucker

First off - "OMG MY EYES" learn how to do paragraphs correctly, PLEASE, that wall of text is horrible.

they sent out emails, there was stuff on the launcher, on the website, people were talking about it on the forums all the time.

You would have to ACTIVELY be avoiding the information to not know. This is ENTIRELY on you, not ZOS.

i didnt even know this game was coming out a till a the other day when i seen it on the xbox dashboard. im mostly a console player hardly get on my pc. just like my freinds had no clue this was going on.

The original promotion last year stated you would be ELIGIBLE for a console transfer. ELIGIBLE does not equal guaranteed.

So I checked in about once a month and that was all that was needed to not miss the eligibility time frame.

Were you all living under a rock? It was all over Twitter/Facebook/Emails were sent/The Zone Chat feed was alive with this information.....

Sorry for your lost opportunity but it is all on you.... ZOS is not to blame here!

Sorry that you missed it but to be fair, its been on the xbox page (not the console) since 2014 and they even updated the release date to June 9th a few months back.

I do follow that many don't make it a habit to come here and expect the console to provide information, this "offer" or "promotion" is actually a PC to console offer so we needed to be more in tune with what was going on here vs on the consoles.

You're not alone and from numerous threads, ZOS has commented that its being reviewed. Don't take that as something will change but just realize that your concerns are being heard because of others.

So this what I got from this. So you telling me that as a gamer you do not stay current with gaming in general. They have release a video stating that this game was coming out on consoles at least four months ago. They release another video about this three months ago. They have been releasing videos like crazy for the pass three weeks. In French, German, English, and PEGI version on their youtube site.

Gamespot, IGN, Gameinformer have release information on this. This even pop of before on the Xbox one dashboard months ago. Now you finally seeing it on the xbox one dashboard now when they are advertising the fact that you can preorder the digital copy now, a week and half before it comes out. You and friends have literately been living under a rock. I am sorry but using the excuse that you were playing on a console and that is the reason you missed the information is not a reasonable excuse. There are plenty people who do not even play this game know that this game is coming out next month.

What I dont understand is why they just dont make it a permanent thing... Say in 2 years I get the XBOX TWO or what ever it will be called and want to transfer then I cant.

So why not use an email you do use all the time? I have 4 email accounts, I check one more than other 3 but I do check them every couple of weeks.

This does not effect me, however I have a spam e-mail account along with most people I know. I do not like receiving e-mails from companies. I have not played or subscribed to Final Fantasy XIV in the past six months and yet they still e-mail me. The one time I brought software from several different companies... still get e-mail from them. World of Warcraft... I have not played that in over eight years. I still get e-mail from them. The e-mail address exists for the sole purpose of me being able to reset my password. It does prevent me from getting spammed from advertisement from game companies.

The second issue of checking gaming news sites. I like playing video games. I am however an adult, with a job, with volunteer work, with my own side projects, and on top of that I am returning to college and have to maintain friendships and family relationships. I am not unique nor special. My investment in video games is logging on and playing them. They are a lot of fun. The hours I could spend researching the latest information on a video game I tend to spend reading real world news and real world events from online newspapers both here in the United States and other countries.

Again this does not effect me. I play on PC and only will play on PC, but there are reasons why people don't check gaming websites as gaming is only a small part of our lives.

because it was a special offer and stated as such. It had a limited time and also suggested more innfo to come at a later date when announced in May of 2014

Realize its not just ZOS offering this but instead ZOS working with both Sony and Microsoft so...I don't have any details about their agreement but it seems they only reached a limited "offer" for 30 days.

This has profit and loss results so just like any coupon, it will expire if not redeemed during the offer or promotional period which was stated in the email sent to all who qualified.

*Some have found that in their ZOS account settings, they had turned off certain options that may have prevented ZOS from sending promotional emails to users. This still would be a user based responsibility but the email was not required to take advantage of the offer.

i took a break from keeping up with the game because they kept delaying it. it said i would be able to transfer my account so i was like cool ill transfer when it comes out on xbox. i didnt think for a second they would be like 30 days before the game comes out transfer then never agn.... ever since that was announced thats what i was counting on ,me and my friends its soo stupid to just say 30 days then never agn... man did me and my friends get played by that announcement feels more like a scam.

Yeah man I feel your pain. Just the other day, I saw that BestBuy had amazing deals on TVs during last Black Friday, so I went there and saw the TV I wanted was $400 higher! What a scam!

What a bummer I know exactly how you feel. My dad owned a store for 22 years and now I walk into stores and they have no penny candy, what a rip off!

ive payed like 200 dallors on this game and they want to pay another 60 and start over on console. yea its starting to feel like a scam . i guess im just used to playing smite where they let you transfer your account and have tons of free updates and offer every god that they will ever make for 30 dallors. at least smite told you when you could transfer- On Xbox when you logged in , im pretty sure they had a video on the dashboard too.

Why do people complain and blame others for their failures? Just to point out a few of the steps ZOS took:

-they sent an email prior to the transfer period starting, and stated the dates;
-they sent out an email when the transfer option went live;
-it was all over the launcher;
-it was on the website;
-if I recall I think I also saw an email reminder as it came closer to the end of the transfer period (I could be wrong but pretty sure I saw one but since I had already taken advantage of it I didn't bother to remember much about the transfer emails).


If you missed all of that then it's not their fault. Did you just delete the emails without even reading them?

You really think the successor to the XBone will get ESO? We are early into the lifespan of the XBone/PS4 generation and you think (hypothetically) 2 years? Even if you took advantage of the current PC to XBone/PS4 transfer why would you even think that it would allow free transfer to the next generation IF this game even got ported to that next-gen? The offer was originally said for X1 and PS4, not X1/PS4 and the next-gen too.

you didnt read my post i have alternate emails , that i dont hardly check plus in one day those things get buried under all kinds of crap, and no i dont do any of those other things becuase im a console gamer and hardly get on pc

So that's a valid excuse? I procrastinate checking all my emails, thus I should be entitled to a limited-time offer? Do you do that same thing with Black Friday deals from Best Buy as well?
