Sadly, I too missed the console boat

I bought ESO at release like many other due to the console delay knowing that I would be able to convert to console at some point in the future. I missed that window of opportunity. I've seen may posts about how is it possible for you to have missed the dates...simple (well maybe if you understand old folk)

I am what my kids call "old fashioned." I don't own a cell phone, I don't do social media and I don't read game forums/websites. I do e-mail and I got an email letting me know about the upcoming offer and to keep an eye out for more details. Well I never got that other email, turns out I didn't need to wait for an other email just show up to the door with my dance shoes. (Old people still take people for their word)

But, I have preordered the game again for my PS4 because my PC hasn't been able to run the game since September of 2014 (well it can but i crash often due to old hardware heating up) and I've always planned on playing the game on a console, my recliner in much more comfortable than this desk chair. No biggie I can now look forward to playing the game I enjoy on PS4.

I know many others are not willing to pay for the same product a second time as am I but in exchange I will never be a subscriber (as I was until my computer took a vacation) and I will never buy crowns. (us "Old Fashioned Folks" as my kids say, have a good memory and are stubborn)

So while I'm sad that i missed the oat, I'll still be enjoying the game and ZeniMax has gotten their last dollar out of the old man. Hopefully others who aren't interest in the crown shop can come to the same realization and still enjoy the game on their console.

See you guys on the 9th with my lvl 1 Templar!

I also lost out on taking all my loyalty rewards and collections with me to console because I also never got an email, it was not posted in the forum or game dashboard as far as I know, not everyone follows Facebook and Twitter.

But yh it doesn't matter that it's there fault imo, we have lost out : (

I feel your pain bedlom, but I'm sure it stings worse for you because you have a lot more progress in the game than I did. I only made it to lvl 49. I'm going to start a guild PS4 called The Shafted ( i kid i kid).

It was all over this forum and the webpage here and on the patcher.

It was on a lot of game web sites and their forums.

I do feel bad for the OP and the people that (really) didn't get the email... who were signed up to get emails.

I own a smartphone but it's old and not that 'smart'... anyway I can't/don't read e-mails on my phone. I was not playing ESO actively, I too had a bad PC when this game launched and due to a power surge my whole pc died even (build a new gaming pc 3 months back) I didn't knew (back at launch) it would take them this long for the console version to come out.

Anyway, I don't follow news sites either, didn't read this forum either or been to homepage yet I did know of the console copy ... by Email, which I read daily.

I have strong spam filters set up on my E-mail client but whenever I create an account or get a new game or whatever the first thing I do is white list the emails of the company, I got the email as high priority in my inbox and it warned me even from before the console copy offer started.

I ALWAYS received my emails from any game company or service or whatever I'm signed up on. Not sure how people do not receive them.

Some people do reported that they received the email in their junk/spam folder ... though that seems more their own fault to not white list ZoS emails or look in their settings.

No need to feel bad, life happens and opportunities are missed in order to capitalize on other opportunities. Yes, I feel the transfer option could have been handled better. Unfortunately I'm not really in the target demographic, and a bit of an outlier, for these games when it comes to the analysis on how to best promote the transfer option.

I was talking to the group of buddies I play online games with and while they hadn't played the PC version they are excited for ESO on PS4, that what really drove me to just buy the game again...I know I'll get my 53.99 worth out of it.

So wait your old fashion don't do social media and all that yet you play an mmo has to setup an account with credit card email address and that good stuff and you a ps4 which you preordered the game and all of a sudden you decide to grace the forums that you never get cause your old fashion? Yeah full of complete bs there on being old fashioned and not realizing the month long free transfer. Okay next person with some sort of excuse of why they missed something that was a month long???

Its thoroughly upsetting that Zenimax only allowed a month of time to transfer to console. I don't plan to transfer personally but it seems like a complete money grab to me. They lose nothing by letting people transfer for free whenever they want, other than making their customers pay for a game twice. Which is only a smart decision from a money perspective.

I suppose most gaming companies now don't care too much about their customers. Just about how much money they can take from them throughout the duration of their game.

not that easy. There are a MYRIAD of reasons as to why they are not doing it any more

    1. code - they are transferring a MASSIVE amount of code from one system to TWO, COMPLETELY Different systems, the coding is VERY different in between these system. Heck, once the servers are live for consoles, it might not be POSSIBLE to do it again
    2. they might want to try and curb the amount of maxed out characters to a "new" game
    3. it could EASILY be that MS and Sony just do not want it, and/or are only allowing a month.

OK not sure if you as old or older than me son but am 60, 61 in July. Being old does not mean when I sign up for a game I don't setup my email so I can get any info for the game. Now I may not play the game(s) as much as others but I do check my email(s) every day unless of course am in the hospital. But if you have been playing these type of games like I have then you wouldn't forget to setup email and or check sites of games you play all the time. In fact us older folks tend to be more responsible in these type things. I even keep up on any deals at Home Depot and Krogers ect.

I really don't think being old is a good excuse, personally I think a lot of these posts are embellished. But I also wouldn't have bought the game for PS4 if you do own the game for PC. I'm about 80% sure if not couple of weeks after console goes live they will but it up on site (crown store) that would be cheaper for you than paying the full price like you have. But a month after release am sure it will be up, it is a good money maker, so makes sense they will do it.

But thanks for buying it, I love when the game is supported.

Thank you so much PKMN12 to posting the probable reason why they did this, for some reason it seems like a lot of people who don't understand the common sense of reason one is astounding. I know nothing of coding and all that stuff but even I can use common sense and figure its not as easy as a push of a button and cut and pasting of something to transfer all that information down.

There weren't video games before social media? Just because I'm old and shun tech I hate means it is not possible to own a PS4 and use a forum? Sorry that your youthful shortsight blinds you to a reality you can't fathom. Sorry if my world conducts with yours.

I got the email and misread it thus why I just bought the game again, it was my fault for skimming the email.

They'd have gotten more $$$ out of me with the 20.00 deal.
