ESO giving only 30 days for pc to console transfer discuss

How *** up is that?
These guys take excessive amounts of time to release this on console then expect us to have been keeping a day by day update on their progress to hurry and jump at the transfer that they offered a year ago with no indication of time limitations.

Can't we please stop beating the dead horse now.. All arguments have been used, official messages from ZOS has been posted over and over again.. There is nothing new to add at this point

I heard that it was abeing released on june 6 and I have been waiting a year for the 20 dollar transfer to console and when I go look it up seeing as how its getting close to release I find out that they won't let me! Very frustrating that they told me I could purchase for pc and not have to buy the game full price a second time yet now they take it back.

If ZOS feels they can make some cash with transfers, they'll introduce payed transfers anyway.
  • JimEra
    JimEra
Still, what about the promise of not having to pay full price for the game twice?

Try going a page or 2 back on the forum instead of just starting a new post  there are tons of these threads.. But basically the bottom line is that if you missed it, you missed it.. people have posted complaints about it based on jobs, family issues, plainly forgetting it and the list goes on

I don't mind using up some of their forum space. They've got to earn my money somehow I guess, I never got to play the game so I guess I'll just play some forums.

    Been bored lately lol

I'm sorry that I bought this game well over a year ago, I was never aware of the 30 day limitation. I was just waiting til june 6 for release and I thought we would get it then. Nobody ever mentioned when the offer was initially made that we would have a time limit or I would have been looking out for it.

    You're an internet

To be honest I don't think they have generated enough trust in their ability to deliver for me to take the risk and buy a game at early release from them. Lets face it, this game has been on beta testing on PC for over a year and it still doesn't work as intended....

If you never played it really after launch, you don't have any character worth copying to the console-servers. So, the only thing is the 20$ for the console-client ... and you can be sure that this is not solely the fault of ZOS. I can assure you, that Sony/Microsoft are playing a big role in this because they get a big portion of the price for the client.

But everything that can be written about this topic is already written in the numerous amount of topics. If you are really interested in this, you can go and read them.

And the bottom line is: you missed it and can't do anything about it.

How about you just keep playing on pc? I don't get why you'd want to play an MMO on a console. I will always choose PC over a console if I have a choice in how to play the game.

First of all, it is your responsibility to know these details about the console transfer. They HAVE been announced on multiple platforms (social media, twitter, eso live etc.). There's only so much they can do. They are not going to handfed you and hold your hands. If you are not willing to make the effort to be informed, tough luck.

Besides if you're eligible, they did send out the email as well. Missing out from their announcements and information just because you didn't have time/was busy/had other RL things etc. is not an excuse. There is a deadline for a reason.

We weren't informed of a deadline when we agreed t o the offer.
I don't use social media. and I never played on PC I just purchased it because I thought it would be nice to fund a new game since they promised us a console copy.

You were informed that there would be an opportunity to copy your characters over. The opportunity was there, for a very, very long time. The deadline was created so they could make sure they could do everything they needed to be successful for the thousands of players who purchased the service. Perhaps everything goes well because they don't have to accommodate everyone who missed it, and then they offer a similar service in the future.

    ESO ON CONSOLES – UPDATE
    05.08.2014 Announcements

Check out the PC/MAC Standard Edition in the store now!

Read our update regarding ESO’s availability on next-gen consoles.

We know from the frequent questions we get that many of you are excited about playing ESO on the PS4 and Xbox One, and today we’d like to share an official update on the status of these releases. Read on for the latest information:

We've been grateful to our fans for the wonderful response to our recent launch of The Elder Scrolls Online for PC/Mac, but we know many of you are eagerly waiting to play the game on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

We continue to work on the console versions of ESO, and game development has been progressing steadily, but we are still working to solve a series of unique problems specific to those platforms. Integrating our systems with each console manufacturer’s networks—which are both different from the PC/Mac system as well as different from each other—has been a challenging process. It has become clear that our planned June release of the console versions isn’t going to be possible. Though we have made great progress, we have concluded that we’ll need about six months to ensure we deliver the experience our fans expect and deserve.

We know that the news of an ESO console delay is as disappointing to many of you as it is to us. We want to do what we can to make it up to our fans who want to start playing now, so we have worked out the following arrangement with Sony and Microsoft:

Via a special offer, anyone who purchases and activates the PC/Mac version of The Elder Scrolls Online by 6/30/14 (11:59pm UTC) will have the opportunity to transfer their character(s) to either console version when they are released. The offer will allow you to begin playing immediately on the PC/Mac, and then add the PS4 or Xbox One version and transfer the character(s) you have created and developed. And, you don’t have to pay full price for the game twice. For $20, eligible PC and Mac players will have the option to add a full, digital version of ESO on either the PS4 or the Xbox One with your character transfer(s), and another 30 days of included game time.

Whether you decide to take advantage of this offer or not, we promise to do everything we can to get the game released on both consoles as quickly as we can. We will keep everyone updated with additional details regarding character transfers, specific offer dates, when you can expect console beta to start, and of course, when ESO on consoles will launch.

Thank you for your patience and loyal support.
