Console Transfer - ZoS Question

Okay, so I purchased the game for console on January 30th, 2014 for $108.24 (Imperial Edition) to be able to play this originally on console. However, the release date has been pushed backed continuously until June. 9th. When I first learned that console release date was pushed back, I went ahead and purchased the PC version of the game on release date. Since then, players have been able to purchase the console edition for $20.00! I was unfortunate to miss the console transfer date as I did not know it was happening until it was over. I did get the email that it would be starting soon, but did not receive any subsequent emails that it had started. I emailed ZoS asking if any special consideration could be made since i have paid quite a bit of money that other players have not had to pay (unless they are in the same boat as me). ZoS has basically I am SOL... I was not offered any refund for my original pre order, nor was I able to transfer to console... So why does ZoS customer service exist? It is apparently not needed if you guys are doing nothing to help your customer base.

    That date was everywhere, you did not see it, so guess what, no go for you, you ARE SOL.

    also, lo, ZOS and customer service i the same sentence. even if it DID exist, it is not there to help you fix YOUR mistakes because you were not paying attention. They would be there to help you fix problems you have in and out of game. This is not a problem, this is you missing the date because you were not paying attention.

    Customer service might not be able to do anything as there is no problem as such. I understand your situation but everything that happened was "as intended" and unfortunately special dispensations are not common in these situations because if they give out one then a lot of other players might also require them and this takes a lot of time to assess each claim.

    I am not saying it is right or wrong, just that I can also understand ZOS's position.

    We dont have to accept nothing! the console has not been released and we still have time. Get on the forums and continue complaining and have them hear our concerns.

    The service exists to help address issues, concerns and to provide clarification and assistance

    In your circumstance it's like going to a store after a sale ended and asking for someone to offer you an expired offer.

    Customer service is there to provide service, but not there is provide exceptions to the rules, offers or specials.

    If you lost your password, got hacked, accidentally deleted an in-game item or something like that...they are there for those types of things

    Well actually @DiMarco you do have to accept it. You can cry all you want it is not going to change the fact that they advertised this for a year, gave you a months heads up and then gave you a month to actually purchase it.

    It's not coming back, they have concretely said it is not possible, so unless you want to get banned for creating troll threads (as that is what they will be) I would suggest you move on and realize that this squeaky wheel isn't getting any grease.

    Tl;dr really weigh the fun you have in game vs the business practices you are supporting.

    This transfer wasn't clearly stated and obviously alot of people never got emails myself included

    I feel let down by zos right now I don't care for my characters so much as my collections all my loyalty rewards all the money I have spent, and I stay on top of eso news but it seems this was only stated on twitter and facebook I don't go to these places for information on a game and this was big news

    But it seems there is SFA we can do about it now just suck it up but this is there F up not ours because obviously alot of us are in the same situation.

    I'm not denying that I missed the opportunity to transfer because I was not paying close enough attention. What is frustrating is I originally bought this FOR console at an absurd amount... and the rebought the game to be able to play on PC until console release. To not be able to have my year of work transferred over is a slap in the face. It should have been done automatically considering I did preoder or console over a year ago.

    I'd just resell the console Imperial Edition on eBay - by the looks of it, a nice profit on either version - then find another hobby that won't raise my blood pressure so much.

    But maybe that's just me.

    At account creation there is an option to sign up for Newsletters as well as an option to sign up for information on Promotions.

    As the account transfer was a promotional offer, it was not covered under the Newsletters option.

    ZOS' privacy policy is such that you are in a contract with them stating they are not legally allowed to contact you about Promotions unless you specifically opted in to receive such information.

    This still seems like a mess up on your side to me.

    Yes, at this point this may be my only option. It's disappointing that I won't be able to have my toons transferred over. In the end though after thinking about it, it's just not worth the hassle. Sad, but true.
