Any chance we'll be able to dye our costumes?

Since costumes are account-wide and don't occupy an inventory slot, can you elaborate how that would be possible?

Well, it was a question/request. But aren't all BoE items usable on your entire account anyway? So you could dye something on one character and share it (via the bank) with another character?

As for the inventory space, I didn't think that would be a game breaker.

But even if using our achievement dyes isn't possible. Just a way to change the colors on costumes somewhat. Even if it's just the basic color.

With the introduction of the Justice System, you can find certain clothes that you can wear. These can be dyed after you launder them.

Yeah, but don't those take the place of armor?

Then I really doubt that you'll be able to dye your wedding dress red for your plights across Cyrodil.

    Sorry, I may have misunderstood.

Are you talking about the costumes you get as leveling rewards and/or can buy from the Crown Store? The ones that are in your collectibles tab?

Or are you talking about costumes that you pick up during quests, like "Keeper's Garb" and "Servant's Robes"?

The former are a skin that is account-wide, so if you were to dye it, it would apply the same dye to all characters wearing that costume.

The latter are individual, and I'm sure they could be dyed after the quest is over (because someone wearing a pink Red Rook Disguise would never deceive anyone.

But you should really look into the stealable clothes. They are pretty awesome and can be dyed after you launder them.

They said they were looking into it, but it was complicated. I suspect it will show up in the long run.

Think about it this way, if they allow dyeing of costumes then they lose out on re-skin revenue, so, yeah, we will continue to get the we are looking into it answer but it will NEVER happen.

Considering that for example some of the ordinator costumes are pretty close to palette swapped versions... I doubt costumes will ever be dyeable.
Especially since then they can possibly sell different color versions in due times...

Not like I really care though. The new stealable civilian clothing things are neat enough for dye-able non-combat outfits, I just hope they will add a lot more styles to that... and maybe make then purchasable and not merely burglarable...

When it comes to dyes, I see little need to dye costumes, give us shield and weapon dyes instead so we can finally color coordinate our knightly characters ;)

Maybe a crafting skill or NPC that makes a dyed set of clothes into a costume...

I'm only really talking about costumes from level rewards and crown store items. The others are disguises, so that's different. And while I get that the clothing is able to be dyed, I'm looking for stuff to PvE / PvP in. Not RP.

That's fine, they need to get on that then. Or sell a dye in the crown store, I don't care.
