Idea to fix Campaigns

Let's get a meeting set up between all the large PvP guilds. By that, I mean a meeting between all DC, all AD, and all EP guilds. Let's take a moment and let's get the competition back into this game. Throw the latency joke aside, throw the meteor spamming aside, the zerging. Get rid of it. Let's take a moment and let's all just talk about how to fix the competition.

Here is my idea. Let's take every single guild that wants to call themselves a PvP guild, and we will give them a campaign to play on. We will equal them out to have fair fights and then we'll see which guild's truely are the best.

Let's stop this sillyness of campaign hopping. My guild was on Haderus enjoying ourselves against the DC buff server people about three weeks ago. Suddenly, a large crowd from Chillrend came in, on the night that we did our heavy push and took a lot back, and made it into their own campaign. Ever since, we've had non-stop Ebonheart Pact players on the campaign... We had been enjoying small-skirmishes and now those are gone. I'm not concerned about the small skirmishes. I'm more concerned about fair fights. The EP zerg one night, DC another, followed by AD. Let's stop this. Let's get certain guilds onto certain campaigns and call it "Their campaign" to fight on.

Anyone who PvP's knows exactly what I'm talking about when it comes to the zerging and to the campaign hopping, it happens way to frequently and we need to nip it quick and get a resolution out there.

I think only zenimax is capable of fixing this. They could make a few adjustments and completely eliminate different campaigns. Just put people in one campaign till it fills up then start putting people in the next. So when everyone logs on and queue's for campaign at 8:00 am EST then they put all of them in one campaign and once those are full they start placing people in the next campaign. This would eliminate buff servers. The other problem I think is happening there is a current exploit that allows you to skip queue and get placed directly into a campaign. Which is why sometimes you wonder how everyone is pop locked yet a certain faction seems to have a very large number of players compared to the other two. It would also require close monitoring to keep afkers and people from simply filling spots and causing imbalances.

I admire your effort, but the problem with all of this is that the "big PvP guilds" are made up of tools who only care about AP and Emperor. So if they're up against another guild that actually presents a threat to them farming either of those, they change servers.

Your point is accurate. Which is why I have a question for those in those "big PvP guilds". Why on earth are they in them? The only people who get crowned emperor are usually officers, so why do the members give a hoot about those guilds? Why not go somewhere smaller, make a real difference and actually get crowned?

Remove the ability to travel to player to access other campaigns + Add PvP Arenas for small scale battles and dueling = Problems solved.

    1) Fix the buffs. Buff servers are ridiculous. Own the map? Get 15% bonus to all XP, AP and gold. Add the Eso Plus buff to that... and if you're on a server that you're not winning it makes almost zero sense to stick with a "losing" server. Hence why so many factions are so damn adamant on keeping these buffs and driving out competition it makes the entire thing an exercise in frustration.
    2) Offer loyalty bonuses for sticking with it. Don't reward faction hoppers. Give people a REASON to stick with it, even if things may be rough now.
    3) Punish people who jump servers. Every time somebody changes PVP servers within X timeframe charge them Y AP. Make the punishment increase exponentially, but offer a rational cooldown timer.
    4) Stop people from being able to guest to other servers by limiting them their guest server to no more than ONE per 24 hour period.

As an addendum to my previous thought:
To fix the buffs, just stop giving them out to anyone who's even homed to the server. ZOS is basically giving out a free ESO Plus membership to anyone who happens to home to a buff server (and hell, it's even better than what you pay for -- a free 15% XP, AP and gold buff to anyone who homes there?).

Require that players meet a simple AP requirement to get the buff, and after every 3 days, it expires. Something simple as you have to earn 2,500AP to get the buff, and it lasts for 72 hours (like AP buff for killing a delve boss). It can be as simple as that. This would stop people from just lazily leeching off the buffs and be required to actually participate.

In reverse, the system should calculate (once a day) the Leaderboard's top 100. If one faction has 2 or 3X AP more in their top 100 than the next faction, give the losing faction an underdog bonus of 10 or 20% AP to encourage people to join and play try to disrupt the buffs.

Else, ZOS is basically giving out a free ESO Plus membership to people just for homing on a server. You may not get crowns, but you CAN get 50% bigger buffs than what you get when you actually subscribe.

They should add sp/wpn dmg buffs for taking keeps (10 mins like resource). things to encourage pace of play and using timing and the map more intuitively.

Make AP gains diminish greatly at 12 players/16/20/24 and you'll see the entire meta of big guilds change pretty fast.

Campaign-locking would have positive effects, but it would come at a heavy price for some. I've tried it. At launch, what was then my primary guild had a poorly considered rule that prohibited people from switching campaigns. We ended up locked in a dead 30-day. Zero activity. It was awful. Everyone serious about PvP quit either that guild or the game altogether.

I don't want to see everyone locked in like that.

Perhaps not campaign-locking so much. Raise the cost of transferring to another campaign (30K) and limit the ability for people to guest-hop into other campaigns by putting a timer on how often people can hop.

The PVP campaigns are just a mess, and there's no real balance.

Just get rid of the buffs. Get rid of the emperor passives. The proof is in the pudding. The game is just too imba with them. It's a shame. I'm normally not a fan of just removing stuff from the game but if ZoS can't cure the cancer they need to just cut it the eff out and let the body heal.

This is ZOS' solution to everything. ie mercs, camps, chains, leap, deer, torchbugs.
