Race for Dk

I'm planning on making a Dk, but have no idea what class is best. currently looking at imperial

The best race depends on how you want to play your dk. For a magicka dd I'd recommend Dunmer, for a healer Breton, for almost everything else Imperial.

Fairly balanced for DK, leans a lot torward Stamina in pvp.

Bonus:
Stamina >>> Magicka every time for Templar and NB. Opposite for Sorc unless you understudy with an Emperor named FENGRUSH.

what class skills I will use with stamina based DK?
Is there any class skill which is worth to use as stamina based DK and I will get the bonus from flame passive (dark elf).

I just want to found out if its just better and safer to roll imperial and have a good character for stamina, tank and even magicka purposes (not best but still good), or if it can worth to pick dark elf and get at least something intresting from his passive when I will spec for stamina and not magicka :-)

Imperial red diamond also looks pretty interesting like another source of healing.

If I compare them:

DE: +15% stats
DE: flame ressist (dont know if the amount is interesting or not and how much it will help, maybe I dont need to pick anything to increase flame ressist and I can instead of pick something what will give me that missing 7% in stats)
DE: flame damage: if I will hame magicka build it will clearly help me in many skills (either class and destro staff), but did I receive anything from that in case that I will go stamina build?

Imperial: 22% stats
Imperial: red diamond healing(not sure if its worth but looks nice on the paper)

The problem is that I dont know if I will be magicka or stamina and it can change in every patch, so its better to pick something versatile.

Searing strike and fiery breath have a morph that scales of stamina and your ultimates will scale of your highest stats, so even as a stamina dk some of your damage will be fire.

lolo: thanks a lot for your answer, because this means that dark elf can still be useful in stamina build and as a plusI will have an option to became vampire.

I have two stamina DK's (Dunner and Imperial). At vet 5 both were "VERY" strong builds and could solo just about everything with ease (same weapons, same skills, same armor).

The Imperial DK is now vet 9 and going strong ............. I'll probably bring the Dunner up as soon as I hit vet 10 on my Imperial.

My first DK was a nord (he is vet 14)........he was never as good as the other two at level, but he was magicka based because that was the thing when he came up (different times, different skills).

I think I would give my Imperial stamina build a very slight edge over my Dunner stamina build if I had to pick one.

I do think my Dunner would be best of the two in a magicka build. My stamina builds are built for high crit and high weapon damage, along with constant fire DOT. (Two hander and dual weld). Both can switch to bow if needed in boss fights.

My Armor/weapons setup was 5 Hundings Rage, 5 vipers sting up to vet 7 (all med armor).

I don't do much PVP and have not been in PVP with these builds. I have been in PVP with my Vet 14 Nord DK........but he is built more along the line of a tank.
