Finally got my first nimhoned weapon to research.
Am I better off leaving it in my bank until the console transfer or will researching also transfer?

What they said was that any research that is occurring at the point of transfer will be reset to zero, so if you only have 10 days left out of 30 days for your research the time will be reset to 0 and you will now have an additional 30 days to research the item.
In summary the time will be reset.
