Bow skills and requiring line of sight

What is it lately that things as Snipe (Focused Aim/Lethal Arrow) don't work anymore from a distance, unless you have a perfect line of sight, a horizontally flat surface between you and the enemy you try to shoot at, and there's nothing between you and him?

My VR9 NB character can no longer use Snipe over or down a slight hill, over a small wall, over a cooking fire, over spiked fences, through a doorway, over fire, and over tons of other things. Not unless I close the distance and am just mere feet away, with perfect line of sight, preferably a horizontally flat surface (stone). When I can pick-pocket the other character, I can perfectly Snipe them. But then, what's the use of that?

But not just Snipe is affected, I see that just plain shooting with bow is also affected by these 'new rules'. Tree in the way, or a bush, a wall, a chest, a Volkswagen Transporter, a horse, another person, two rocks, a kagouti, grass? Cannot shoot. Sometimes it's getting quite tiring because you want to sneak (with still broken sneak) up on this person and snipe him from a distance, but that's not allowed, so you sneak further in to then just hit him with a heavy attack. Not possible, unless you move around that table, and then that chair. Now there's a small chest in the way. Can't you see that candlestick being in the way?

Of course, the enemy archers aren't bogged down by any of these problems, and will shoot and hit you from behind everything mentioned, and their arrows will follow you even when you side-step.

And just when you do have the enemy perfectly targeted with nothing in the way, just as you let the arrow fly, a rat decides to walk past 2 metres behind your target, and even though your reticle is aimed at the centre of your enemy, somehow the shot passes through and skewers the rat.
And it's even worse when your teleport strike hits the rat.
And yes, enemy archers never seem to have a critter problem either.

Line of Sight has always been in the game to one extent or another. What gives people issues, is it is not Camera LOS, but Character LOS. For example, Invasion/Shield Charge requires LOS so the character can see the path to take to the mob, not your camera. Same with Sorcerer Pets when sending them in for combat. Playing in First Person then Camera LOS would be the same as Character LOS.

They may have tweaked things a bit to tighten up the LOS on Bows.

As for the game "letting" us target rats and bugs instead of Mobs, this needs to go away. Too many times I set up my opening rotation only to blow my wad on a rat.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.
