I got a gold temper from each of the equipment writs today.

Of course, I was doing them for the repair kits and I only got one of those...

Sounds like da RNG gods hate ya hehe.

I should give ya my crafting writs for all crafts for a week, you would be amazed at the amount of legendary mats and the damned surveys that you will get, I get so many surveys, that I hate them now....

And if ya want repair kits, give me a shout, I helped a friend the other night with some, I got loads spare

Keep at it, hopefully your luck will change hehe.

Is it that time of the month already? What other dead horse threads are going to roll out? This topic has been covered in so many threads. And there is nothing new here. Deal with it and move on, like most everyone else. Coming next, mandatory dead horse image. >:)

yeah writs are weak, refining is weak, hirelings are weak. No idea where everyone is getting their yellow mats. I'm bone dry now and I do 3-5 equipment writs per craft per week, and every day I do my easy ones (provisioning, alchemy, enchanting), rarely see yellow.

Just spent like 40k on yellow mats, prices haven't changed much, so I must be cursed.

What lvl are you at? I find lvl 50 writs to be profitable, with Woodworking being the worest and Alchemy the best.

As others have said alchemy has the best return, and provisioning. I find enchanting is third with the armor/weapons trailing.

For good upgrade matts it's kinda needed. While helpers still bring gold, they bring less. I only recorded 4 kuta from my helpers this week but doubled that doing the enchanting writs.
    Really, idk

Actually provisioning has the best return. In terms of best return on investment the crafting writs can be ranked as follows:
    1. Provisioning (assuming your provisioner has the passives for it, you always get back at least 30X the ingredients you put into it, as well as a random recipe, and a chance for the purple ingredients that can only be obtained from writs or hirelings)
    2. Alchemy (assuming you have the passives for it you get back significantly more solvents/reagents than you put into it, and you have the chance to get a survey)
    3. Enchanting (you typically get back slightly less than you put into it because you only get 1 glyph, but you have a chance to get a kuta, and a chance to get a survey, so factoring those chances in, as well as the gold you get, it's still worth doing)
    4. All of the equipment writs (you always get way less back from them than you put in, even taking into account the chance for a survey, so they're only worth doing if you happen to have an excess of materials that you were only going to vendor anyway, or if you can buy the materials for less than the gold the writ will give you)

The entire "economy" in ESO is a 2D projection of a real economy at best. It's essentially a very poor representation/estimation of a economy, that's why you experience stuff like this. Writs not being worth it in spite of you delivering valuable goods to people in need.

Thank you! They are very useful when you are running trials, as the increased XP from bosses can cause one of your armor pieces to take a lot of damage. So our raid leader always tells us to make sure we have enough, and doing the writs is a fun way to get them.
