@ZOS, Has anyone checked to see if the "botting" fix implemented in 1.2 is causing the lag?

They may have. Paul Sage has basically admitted that they don't have an ideal solution to the problem atm.

Yeah, they need to remove the botting fix and see what happens. It was way better before 1.2.

    LOL.

That would require ZoS doing something other than making a post a few months back and some band-aid fixes that actually make zergs stronger (siege buff & prox det).

Well I guess most of the people in Cyro are bots since 1.2.
That certainly explains a bunch. :*

I wander how many of the forum people are bots.

Its possible that they moved a lot from our PCs to the server in order to stop the bots, hence much more lag?

Actually I feel that if they dropped their client-side computations altogether the situation might become better. I have a feeling (though I'm not an IT expert) that part of the problem is syncing dozens of clients' worth of calculations when you have to figure in AoE attacks, defenses, buffs, debuffs, etc.

Anyone know what the industry standard is for this?

My assumption here is they decided client side computations to reduce the stress on lower end machinesm thus making it more "accessible" to players. They need to tone it back rather than drop it.
