I don't believe ZOS has implemented world bosses in the way that nearly everyone would expect them to be. Instead of being truly powerful, rewarding bosses that take coordination, skill, and power to defeat, they're nothing more than harder mobs that you solo as you come across them. They do not provide acceptable gear or even a feeling of accomplishment.
Some changes to make them more fun and rewarding:
- Change every world boss to a VR14 (or CP equivalent) mob to create more end game content
- Remove experience granted upon killing a world boss, so that lower level players can't walk up, get a hit on it, and gain 5 levels when it dies
- Add good, strong gear for rewards from these world bosses
- Increase the difficulty so that more coordination, people are required to defeat them
- Decrease the spawn time from once every few minutes to once every few hours
I don't want these bosses to seem tedious to kill and boring, but they should grant both good rewards and a feeling of great accomplishment. What accomplishment is there for a VR14 to re-enter Glenumbra and one shot 'ole Limbscather? Why can't these world bosses be powerful encounters for all players?
