The question I have it what happens to all the gear.

Is there requirement changed to champ points? Or are they all made V1 and scaled accordingly?
What about the mats? Does galatite/voidstone/etc just turn in calcinium? Or are all the brackets shifted down somehow?

Perhaps the quality is still determined by the metals, and they remain, but their requirement is merely set to L50, meaning that their value is determined by how far you progress through Silver/Gold? Then what about Voidstone from Craglorn, or from hirelings?

Removal of vet levels wouldn't necessarily mean removing levels. I wouldn't say yes or no to anything regarding the future of eso, zos predictability is that of a demented child.

I'm sure we will hear or see more by August 2015...let's allow them to finish console development and give them 30 to

    ^^This.
The easiest way to remove vet levels will most likely be to split them up and turn them into normal levels.
The removal will come with side affects, but it depends on exactly how they want to go about the removal.

That's backwards. If they aren't going to work is into champion system then there is no point in "removing" veteran levels and no purpose of spending 6 months developing and adding in champion levels and points.

I just said it would be the easiest way. I have no idea if that is how they will actually do it.
Gating equipment behind specific CP levels would be interesting, though I'm not too sure if that would be a wise decision. We will see eventually. I imagine very level will be removed by the time 2nd or 3rd DLC is released.
They can get away with keeping vet levels in with Orsinium and just use it as another way to get to V14, but after that they have nothing.

Hmm a challenge? I have v8 sorc right now in random gear and so far besides veteran mode dungeons not much challenge besides the urge to log off after getting another dull quest requiering you to go and gather/activate 3-5 things in the pretty big area.

I hope this is one of those many projects or plans, they have not decided to implement ...

Having the Champion System as the only way of character progression, after level 50, will be disastrous for this game, much worse than the current veteran system. Although many people here in this forum are favorable to this idea (so far is an idea and a plan, rather than a promise), many others are against ... Just make a poll at a populated area were many people have their 4th, 5 th, VR14...

Besides the equipment problems, skills, recipes, potions, runes, ingredients, materials, etc. how to reward the effort of thousands of people who are already in their fourth, fifth (some sixth and seventh, only through the Cadwells, quests, and end game PVE) veteran character 14? It will be given to them a proportional CP (to their XP gains with all those toons)? Of a sudden, someone with one VR14 and 5 VR1 will be equal to someone with 6 VR14? That would be very unfair ...
And let's be straight: right now, it takes 3 days to reach level 50. But to reach VR14 (with about 2-3 h per day) more than a month (actually, almost 2 months). So, some people want (let's say someone with just 1 VR14 and 7 level 3-49) in 3 days, be equal to someone who spent months in their toons?

For me and many others the most important is whether and when it will be possible to re-play our campaign after reaching the VR14 ...

This was on a Twitch live last year. I won't speak for them but we have champion levels as a result of the vet level phasing out approach

A 6 V14 will not be equal to 1 V14 and 5V1. People who started a high Vet rank got free Champion points when they were introduced. People still levelling Vet are earning Champ points as they go as appropriate. These Champ points are acc-wide.

Maybe the kit will be the same, maybe stam/magicka/health points will be reduced to V1 levels. We don't know yet.
But we CAN say the 6 V14 will still have superior characters as they will have significantly more Champ points on each character, whereas the other player will have a smattering.

I like being able to gain the extra levels that do not carry over to other characters that I have on my account.

When you say removal, what do you all expect after they remove them ?

Last ESO live Jason said there will still be Silver and Gold to do, they are not revamping the VR quest line he said, but they are working on making it more accessible(what ever that means in zos terms), so what I see is the removal of the term VR replaced with level XX, and a little change here or there, nothing to write home about, I could be wrong but that is the impression I was left with, plus none of this is going to happen until some time after console release, could be months afterwards, I would advise against holding ones breath..:)

This would make sense to me. Everything set to require 50, with different materials retaining different quality, in which the "higher" level materials are "harder" to get (due to being located further down the Silver/Gold lines).

Turning the VRs into straight levels IMO destroys the purpose of removing VRs at all.

Well, there is tons of redundant subjects cause we never have an answer from ZOS.
So people keep asking, and ZOS keep ignoring.
I won't blame ppl for trying to have a clear answer.

@Gidorick: And I do support your way of thinking, because I am myself perfectly aware on how greatly will VR-removal impact the game balance again. What I don't want to do, is to repeat the same endless arguments all over again that close to all people will be too short-sighted or narrow-minded to understand and/or deny seeing any issues afterwards.

I do not understand why people are expecting 50 to be the cap as it simply cannot happen.
