    I recommend getting these addons, but keeping them turned off until you've already tried to find all of the skyshards and lorebooks in a zone on your own. Then, if you think you've got them all (for the lorebooks), or you're completely stuck on the remaining hints (for the skyshards), turn them on and go back to grab the ones you missed. Then turn them off again before going to the next zone and repeating the process.

    It's much more fun that way.

    Beat me to it. There are a lot of addons I like, but these two are pretty much must haves, especially if you want to stay as close to the original game design as possible.

    I definitely recommend very few to no addons at all when you first start playing for a bit. That said, some other addons I use that you may find helpful and/or cool:

    • Harven's Trait and Style

    Already did and got all of them in that zone. The only problem I've run into really, is the community itself is super unhelpful and trollish in-game.

    The community is only really unhelpful and trollish in the starter zones I've found. Later zones aren't quite as bad.

    I remember when I started, was in DC, ran around Glenumbra all day for a couple days doing quests everywhere, and I didn't know how big the rest of High Rock was, I thought Glenumbra would have taken up most of it, for some reason, not sure why. So when I finally got to the end of the Glenumbra storyline which took me into Stormhaven I finally figured out how to look at the full map.

    I was inbetween jobs at the time, pretty sure I was on for 15 hours a day for the first month. After discovering Stormhaven I was running around as a low level trying to explore the rest of the DC zones, trying to figure out how to get to the Alik'r desert. A lot of sneaking was involved trying to roam about in Bangkorai, anytime I heard a spider it was like full adrenaline mode getting away to survive. I finally gave up on finding Alik'r, for I guessed it was probably a boat entry point, which I found out a lot later I was right.

    There's some unhelpful and trollish in game, some opposite. At different times, you'll find more of one or the other.

    For the most part, I haven't seen a whole lot of actual trolls. Plenty of random nonsense, though, which is fun for me :mrgreen:
