It is pointless to purchase costumes if you can not dye them........

Agreed! It's hard to imagine what they were thinking there. I know it'll be "harder" to do but why would you pay for costumes without this essential component?

Or making it so we can mix and match it.

Say i wanted to use one costume for my body but i wanted to keep my chiefs hat on.

My favorite looking armor piece is the Necromancers chest piece (light armor).

I wear full leather and can not use.

I hope in the future, there will be costume armor slots in the game.

So the costumes take the place of your armor? I assumed it was an extra slot, that just changed the appearance while you kept your armor underneath. That doesn't sound appealing at all.

They're a cosmetic overlay. You are still wearing your armor, you just appear to be wearing whatever the costume is.
What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.
    That's right... Horse.

From the April 24 ESO Live:
Heromofo: Is it possible to see our costumes and transmorgs get the dye treatment?
We don’t have any plans to offer something like this at this time.

So, sadly, no dyeing in the near future.

I doubt they will ever make costumes dyeable. Especially not considering how many costumes are rather similar to each other but for the color... (covenant knights, ordinators...)

Not that I see any need for it, if you want to wear your presonal color, stay with normal armor. And maybe a second set of street clothes... now those I'd like to see get axpended upon, and made purchasable and not just stealable... oh, well, maybe someday...

I feel like if one wants to have a costume on they should wear the costume as it is. If one wants to wear their own custom armor, they should piece it together themselves.

My guess is that you can't dye costumes because that would potentially make armor styles obsolete. Why would any crafter bother to get the Dwemer motif is the majority of players will just take any old style because they're just gonna put a costume on over it anyway? I'd prefer costumes to not be dyeable for this reason.

    Shields as well, please :).

-First-Wave Closed Beta Tester of the Psijic Order, aka the 0.016 percent. =P
Exploits suck. Don't blame just the game, blame the players abusing them!

-Playing since July 2013, back when we had a killspam channel in Cyrodiil and the lands of Tamriel were roamed by dinosaurs.

Personally, I would like to see everything dyeable including disguises. Once they have been used they should become costumes and dyeable. I would like the stolen NPC clothes to also be dyeable costumes so I can walk anywhere and look the way I want to and still have the protection of my armor.

In Morrowind, I could wear a robe over my armor so why not in ESO (only without the pauldrons sticking out and ruining the look).

The thing is that costumes right now are a collectible that's account-wide. So if you were able to dye it, it would have to be dyed the same colour for all your characters.

And while my Khajiit DK may like pink, my Dunmer NB hates it.

Ah, I see. I tend to dye all my armor the same way but I can understand that some would prefer more than basic black. ;)

^^ I cannot for the life of me understand why you cannot dye shields......

They do come under the classification of armour after all!

Shields and weapons should come first on the priority list IMO but costumes should be dyeable too!

I was very upset when I found that the costume I had bought could not be dyed, and, I for one, will not buy another costume till that changes.

Having said that, yes, dying shield and weapons should come first. Don't know why, but it seems that in every game I've played that had a dye system, shields and weapons were left out. Any one know of a game that lets you dye them?
