The importance of elements or: Why Pokémon is fun and ESO isn't
Elemental damage and weaknesses are nearly an RPG staple. Yet I find this aspect extremely lacking in ESO. I'd like to show two games which I think have done it better, and which ESO could draw some inspiration from.

You forgot a somewhat more relevant MMO. In vanilla WoW, if you didn't craft a good fire resistance set you'd not kill Ragnaros and other bosses and even trash pulls before him were hard without it.
Once on farm status, then yes you could. But before...
I also recall having had to craft / get drops from other resists sets. Who did not wear them would truly feel the pain, possibly more than ESO vamps do when they step in fire.
Having to find / buy and use more than 1 min maxed, always static "best in slot" fixed gear set could even reanimate ESO markets a bit.
