Why are the shoulders so ugly?

zeitzbachrwb17_ESO
Having laid my eyes upon the "Way of Martial Knowledge" that is more like "Lack of Fashion Knowledge" set shoulder, it made me want to scream because of the amount of damage the darn game is inflicting when such an ugly abomination of mankind appears on my lovely Argonian. I had to go and buy hat instead to fulfill the 4-piece bonus but the moment I reach V14 on my Templar, there is no escaping the ugliness that caused all the stars to disappear and the warrior and mage to turn against the citizen of Tamriel because the set is so ugly the word ugly sound pretty if I want to maximize the bonus with Healer Habit set along with it. (Unless the Healer Habit shoulder is somewhat bearable that is)

It's good we can toggle off helmet appearance.
But when will we get a shoulder option as well?

Btw, did I mention how ugly it is yet? It's that ugly. It's like, the moment you wear the shoulder, you go from being son of Billgate to an unloved orphan that even Angelina Jolie will spit on. It's so bad I actually consider quitting Light-armor char now.

I hate the shoulders on just about everything only slightly less than I loathe and despise the stupid floating "hip guards" the light robes are afflicted with. At least I can take the stupid mini hover craft above my shoulders OFF for RP and screenshots.

Silly me. I never paid attention to the "looks" of the Martial Knowledge set. I just slapped it on my sorc because of the set values and found it indeed to be one of the better sets out there. Sometime it pays to have poor or no taste in appearances.

Lol aye brilliant, I do hate I will admit, the ancient elf pauldrons on heavy for example.

One of my DK builds looked like a hybrid of a transformer and Ironman, absolutely hated it hehe

Love your mini hovercraft thingie though hahaha.

Breton Heavy Shoulders is what I use on my Heavy Armor characters

Imperial Light for the Light Armored (and even the Heavy when I do a 5/2 H/L combo)

All other Shoulders are just ugly. Or Huge. Or look more dangerous to the character than they would be to an enemy.

    Best be worried brah,

This game is too stuck in "back in old/ancient times realism"

Back in the old times, everything was ugly, so it's best to be worried about not having good looking stuff.

This game needs to start making stuff the PEOPLE WANT.

Thinking of old times, not ancient times...
Womens fashion was ugly, I couldnt see any women today wearing what they did 100+ years ago. Sure has evolved since. From baggy cloths, to skin tight. Cant see no curves, to seeing all the curves. Even look at there gym outfits, yoga pants everywhere now.

While men's fashion, pretty much stayed the same. Jeans and a buttoned t-shirt. Probably the most noticeable is basketball shorts. Maybe *** tideys to boxers too. Not sure if *** tidey's was the main thing 100+ years ago.

Our fashion sense changed even 20 years ago, this game needs to be on with the trends. We might've actually LOVED what we see in this game now 20 years ago, but due to our evolving fashion sense. I dont find clothing/armor appealing in this game. Feels a little re-runned too.

Well at least the heavy armor looks nice sometime and I like the use of scale pattern on Argonian armor. Huge problem happens when a part is designed to only work with that entire costume or it sucks so bad like "Lack of Fashion Knowledge"

Whole thing was designed that if you do not wear that torso and hood, it looks insanely stupid and out-of-place right away because of how big it is. It ruins every other possible combination and it doesn't even look good to warrant being worn.

You are joking right?, there is next to nothing realistic about this game, so in pre 1.6, harry potter staff wielding cloth armour clad peeps being nigh on unkillable is realistic?, the list goes on, far too many to list here....

Rest of your post I agree with to a extent however hehe.

But it is a wilderness of opinions, and fashion sense is extremely fickle.

Eh, the shoulders are a bit silly looking, but I vote for getting rid of the random "hip armor" that plagues the game first.

With the exception of a few sets, shoulders are absolutely hideous. Looks like they didn't want to customize the armor for all the various race and character sizes. This looks like a shortcut to me more than a lack of fashion or artistic sense. Especially given that some armors are very well done especially in their marketing material. So the talent is there. Nevertheless, fugly they are certainly.

Well yeah... most of these floating armor parts look terrible.. be it shoulders, hip plate or knee/elbow guards..

I mean, especially hip plates and knee/elbow guards look ridiculous on non-heavy armors. WHO THE HECK is putting them on robes or leather armors? Have you got no fashion sense, man?

Oh, right... where are our thieves guild and dark brotherhood styles? Will they even be implemented this year? I'm sick of all leather designs, which is keeping me from playing dps... and my heavy armor is pretty much always just dark elf one with imperial shoulders (the only shoulders which look actually useful and don't seem to float)

On any non-heavy character I'm using the breton tier 3 heavy armor costume I bought with crowns ....

.Ah... the MK shoulders . I chose to never use them. I craft medium imperial for that slot and use the awesome hood even if I loose a large infused slot. Between doing slightly more dps and looking awesome ,looking awesome wins in this case.

ZOS need to add full motif change to everything already.

It is a little bit peculiar that the MK hood is one of the coolest looking items in the game and the rest of the set is so damn atrocious. Was that set designed by multiple persons?
