Which is why there will eventually be some form of centralized player market once the dust settles. Global AH, large bazaars in certain cities, etc. Something will happen to 1) connect all markets and 2) allow ability to search by text.
Additionally, if current system stays, yet they are all connected into a single kiosk/merchant to search for items by text, you would see these bid wars for merchants disappear.
Did you guys even read OPs post? He's not asking for a global AH but for extending the shops by being able to place bids on items.
Anyways, considering some circumstances (guild loses kiosk, seller leaves guild, just 30 slots to sell, etc..) it'd be just easier to relist the item at a reduced price.

Which is why this is unlikely to happen. It's the biggest gold sink in the game right now. They would have to come up with something like player or guild housing before that.
