***RESOLVED***

FIX:
Locate and access the Usersettings.txt file
By default this file is located here:
C:\Users\user.name\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live
or
C:\Users\user.name\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\liveeu
Find the line SET GraphicsDriver.7 "D3D11" or SET GraphicsDriver.7 "D3D9" in the file. Change the line to: SET GraphicsDriver.7 "OPENGL". Please save the file after making the change.

Hello,
Since the latest patch 2.0.7 my game crashes less than a minute after loading my character. Every time it crashes to desktop, hands me a crash report and then the "eso.exe has stopped working" error shows up. My PC runs ESO great without any lag issues or freezes. I have tried using the launcher repair tool but it didn't find any corrupt files, i have also tried running as administrator and compatibility mode for XP SP2. My Nvidia graphics drivers are up-to-date and I'm running a 32-bit system. Here is the crash report:

====================================================================
eso has stopped working.

Repair your .net install and stop the nvidia streaming service ...

Well, it doesn't seem to be the gpu causing a tdr. Try running as admin, just in case it is some stupid permission issue.

I have already tried that as i stated in the main post :)

    Friend your not alone.
I belive i'm having exactly the same problem.
Been playing ESO for weeks without any problem. But yesterday it froze in the midle of the game.
After that, once i select the character and 10 seconds later it stops on the loading screen.
Tried to get in game with my 2nd pc and it's happening exactly the same.
Tried many things and nothing seams to work.
I've hopes that by tuesday Zenimax fix this.

by the way, i'm in UK using TalkTalk internet provider.

Yes but i get the crash 10-20 seconds after the loading screen is done and my char is loaded.... :/

PuuLoo have you tried loading a different character? It may be a server side issue.

You're not alone. I just hit a spot with mine where if I try to move forward or turn in a certain direction, I crash.

However, the really weird thing is if I play in windowed mode AND reduce the size of the window to about one quarter of the size of my screen, I can progress. Playing windowed (fullscreen) doesn't work and playing windowed with it maximized or anywhere close to it doesn't work. How's that for a head scratcher?

Oh sorry then. So you manage to get in tamriel, but it crashes after.
Does the same happens when you try on a 2nd new character (on a diferent allience)?

Ok, how can i directly contact the support team to ask for help with this issue because over the last three days i have tried almost everything and can't play the damn game that i paid more than 50 bucks for.... :( It is awesome and i was running it pretty well. These crashes are my only problem...

Try deleting the ZO_Ingame.lua file in the Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live\SavedVariables folder.
  • PuuLoo
    PuuLoo
Will that result in me having to re-download the whole game? Because it takes up to 12 hours......

    What was the fix?
  • PuuLoo
    PuuLoo
I explained it in the original post but here it is too:

    FIX:
Locate and access the Usersettings.txt file
By default this file is located here:
    C:\Users\user.name\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live
    or
    C:\Users\user.name\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\liveeu
Find the line SET GraphicsDriver.7 "D3D11" or SET GraphicsDriver.7 "D3D9" in the file. Change the line to: SET GraphicsDriver.7 "OPENGL". Please save the file after making the change.

This terminated all crashes and now the game is running great.

That could be a problem with your DirectX windows install.
And the graphics in-game are good with OPENGL?
