Ruze is a veteran of the PC Beta, lived through the year one drought, survived the buy-to-play conversion, and has stepped foot in the hells known as Craglorn. He mained a nightlbade when nightblades weren't good, and has never worn a robe. He converted from PC during the console betas, and hasn't regretted it a moment since.
He'd rank ESO:TU (in it's current state) a 4.8 out of 5, loving the game almost entirely.
The article could have been published several days after the interviewer asked the interviewee that question, it's not mentioned when he asked ZoS that question, not when ZoS's answer came in, yet everything else has an exact date. That's kinda..... weird.Curragraigue wrote: »The article was published 12 hours ago. Have you got a source for the reconsideration?
At the main topic of this post:
The quick select chat system, which is confirmed to have already-made "common" phrases, sounds questionable to me if it's enough to sway me to buy the console edition again. I'll need to know all the phrases to be included before I can decide if it's enough to be suitable.
However, if the ability to create your own quick-select chat messages with a few 8-way analog shortcuts, then I'd definitely buy it again, as that'd be enough for me. They already had the emotes selectable onto an 8 way analog choice like this, so they can definitely add custom made phrases too.
Also, just pointing this out:The article could have been published several days after the interviewer asked the interviewee that question, it's not mentioned when he asked ZoS that question, not when ZoS's answer came in, yet everything else has an exact date. Hi ,
I'm really sorry for the delay of answer, we have been quite busy lately.
We are well aware of the feedback regarding the chat on console and even though it will probably not be available at the release, but this is something we are considering thanks to the feedback from the players as you just did.
Regarding your second question, there is no plan to remove the text chat from the PC version so you don't have to worry about it
I hope I answered to your questions and concerns and I wish you a great day.
Warmest regards,
Yoann

Yes no date on when the interview occurred I was just pointing out it was a recent article as to why it was relevant. The author was obviously in beta and read the beta section at least.
My question was genuine I haven't seen anything from ZOS where they have said that they are reconsidering including text chat so if @ruze84b14_ESO or anyone else has a source for ZOS saying that they are reconsidering on text chat a link would be appreciated

It's a small group of players almost entirely PC based. As Zazaaji said, it wasn't related to the topic.

Almost all the replys on the Eurogamers article page are against the removal of text chat too, let me guess ... they don't count either right?

Count? Yes. Are traditional MMO players the target audience? I don't believe so. But that logic seems to be very hard for those who have PC origins to understand.
Console players won't feel betrayed by a lack of text chat, in my opinion.
@uberkull
It's 14 pages, a poll that represents 268 people that visit this forum. It's a start to get a response.
If you want, start by emailing support and asking yourself instead of asking others to find proof. Just saying.

Have you even read this thread, or just glanced at the usernames or something?

So long as I can turn the voice chat off I might get it. It'd be nice to have quick chat or a chat box but it wouldn't be a deal breaker for me. I just don't use voice chat, don't want to, don't want to hear it, but if I can atleast turn it off I'd be fine playing completely unable to communicate with anyone. I'm a solo player anyway.
:-)There is such a lack of credit being given to players being able to think outside the box.
People complain about games being clones of other games. Then when a game steps out of the box, these same people cry fowl; "you can't change that!".
I hope Zen sticks to their vision and leaves it out & doesn't let some high pitched vocal minority ruin something that could make this game unlike other world reducing, faux MMO lobby games. This game could be unique, Imagine that... You may have to travel to a (gulp) city to trade? Oh heavens... you mean I may have to speak? Out loud? Mercy...
Most console players will not use text chat. This is a non issue. And giving a global or zone wide advantage to the minority of players who would use it is one of the worst mistakes that could be made.

Even tasks as simple as linking loot to a group after a boss kill becomes impossible with what was provided in the console beta test.
