That's not entirely true. In some eras short hair was preferred by knights and other warriors because it was better when wearing a helmet (with a closed-face helmet you don't want to run the risk of hair falling in front of your eyes as you're moving around in combat, already trying to turn your head constantly to be able to see what's going on around you).c.p.garrett1993_ESO wrote: »Historically, short hair is relatively modern.

There are not many options for short hair that would be accurate.
Even in modern society I see most men have the same generic haircut, with only slight variations in length and/ or style. Without styling products there is little you can do.
