Highest Attainable Dodge %

Sarevok_Anchev
Anyone know what the highest attainable dodge % is and how to reach it? From what I can tell you can only have Blur or Evasion running and not both for the Major Evasion buff.

I found a few armor sets that benefit dodge but wasn't sure if anyone else out there has tested which is more effective. What I found:

http://elderscrollsonline.wiki.fextralife.com/Spectre's+Eye+Set
http://elderscrollsonline.wiki.fextralife.com/Hist+Bark+Set
http://elderscrollsonline.wiki.fextralife.com/Crusader+Set

I can't tell if Hist Bark is a minor or major evasion buff. If it's minor I could stack the 18% with the 20% and nearly reach 40% chance to dodge attacks while also blocking attacks that get through. If not, Spectre would be ideal for a decent amount of dodge % uptime as long as I am using magicka.

Thoughts?

20% is the max. Only one evasion buff can be active at a time, regardless of its source (set bonus, ability, etc).

I've personally used Spectre's Eye quite a bit (more so before 1.6), and it does certainly add quite a bit to your survivability. If you are constantly shooting off spells (especially if you are a healer using Healing Spring), you will pretty much have a 20% dodge bonus up 3 seconds on and 3 seconds off. The only downside to the set is that it does not add much to your resource sustainability or DPS.

If thats true, im gonna say its because ZOS screwed up and bugged it out. Mirage (which was previously miss chance) stacked with sets like hist bark and even the evasion skill from med armour pre 1.6. Pre 1.6, only miss + dodge could stack. You couldnt stack dodge + dodge. In 1.6, they both give the Major Evasion buff, but i suspect that ZOS hasnt changed something in the internal workings of the skill and its counting it still as miss chance hence why its stacking.

Thats just my theory as to why it might be stacking (if it is). If not, then no harm done and the max is 20% dodge chance you can obtain.

I'm pretty certain it does. In pvp i have chased players numerous times with crit rush after crit rush after crit rush and they just keep dodging it. Yet while i have mirage on i don't seem to dodge as many hits.

Hist bark provide a special dodge bonus who is not the major dodge buff. So, theoretically hist + elude/mirage stack with themselves for a 38% dodge chance.

I've meet some people who say that hist + elude don't stack (20% with the two bonus), and they told to me that's a bug.

According to Eric Wrobel when our guild spoke with him, they do not stack. I run a NB tank and specfically asked about Blur (morphs) and Hist Bark.

Appreciate the feedback all. Was hoping for some decent dodging capabilities. Would the only reliable way to mitigate damage then be heavy doses of armor and magic resist?

Would be nice if ZOS could ever give us actual full working information on their mechanics rather than all the research we have to do. :disappointed:

From what I hear most places there is a cap on it though.

in a way yes, but also there are other tools at your disposable. Things like minor miam debuffs and damage shields.

I'm sorry but are you saying that the two 20% miss powers cancel the 18% armor bonus so the Hist Bark is now completely useless as a set?

This really deserves clarification in the Set bonus descriptions themselves. Players deserve to know if these sets are a waste of time or not, without doing ridiculous tests.
