Anyone else wish you could learn or recover enchants by deconstructing the items like in skyrim?

I get why thy made enchanting into glyph format, to be able to sell in the guild stores, but why can't you deconstruct armor and weapons and recover either enchanting mats or glyphs?

As a casual player I was satisfied that at one point I had a char max level and near max crafting with almost all motifs and I pretty much lost interest. Then ESO discovered DLC's and now my main is just a wanabe and I am happily pulled back into the game.

Umm, you can. Just go to a crafting station and deconstruct, but its based on your crafting skill, so if your low, you will get little back.

But glyphs used on an armor or weapons are gone, but the armor can be deconstruct for materials and unused glyphs can be broken down for the runes

No, deconstruct from the weapons themselves

In skyrim I did not think you could recover a glyph from a weapons or armor. Is that an mod?

In skyrim there were no glyphs, but you learned the enchants by deconstructing and you applied the enchants directly to the item.
I was wishing you could recover mats and or enchants from the deconstructed items like you can recover blacksmithing/clothing/woodworking mats.

You have never been able to recover a Glyph from an Enchanted item. You could learn the enchant in Skyrim, but not recover it.

Yes, it might be nice to have a small chance to recover the Glyph, but since it is magically imbued into the item, it makes it kind of difficult to extract it.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

I thought a glyph was symbols or magic words craved into the weapon\armor. Can't see how that could be recovered by breaking down a weapons or armor. But I can see how a small chance to recover a rune would be nice

While it would be nice to get glyphs from deconstructing equipment, what you're asking is to cross to different game sub systems . Can you imagine the bugs that would be introduced if this was tried? The bug risk is not worth the small pay-off IMO.

I did suggest to ZOS that if you were a Master Enchanter (so Lvl 50) that you should be able to recover the glyph from the enchanted item.

If you wanted to deconstruct the glyphs then your normal skill levels would apply (for recovery of materials). Sadly that's probably not going to happen.

I agree it should. The glyph or spell is attached to the item created to enchant it. So it Only seem right that deconstruction should allow a chance of the glyph being removed without it being destroyed. If you are trained in both enchanting and smithing/tailoring/woodworking would improve your chances. Something has to be done to improve enchanting and giving us extra glyphs to deconstruct couldn't hurt. Enchanting is seriously out of balance with all the other trade skills in training.

Glyph's as I understand them, in this game and in the lore, (there's actually a book that describes them in-game); are a physical gem-like item that you attach to your weapon/armor to apply the affect of the glyph. So to not be able to recover it when you can recover everything else from deconstructing basically, seems a bit silly.
