The fact that they are actually in the process of testing it is promising. I have said before that getting it to work with PC, at the least the XBox controller, shouldn't be too difficult since Windows 8 already has native XBox controller drivers. My suggestion would be to gently remind them periodically that we still want this and hopefully they won't neglect it.pecheckler wrote: »My dilemma is whether or not to copy my account to console to enjoy native controller support and then not having a way to copy my console characters back to PC. Honestly at this point stating you're releasing PC controller support at some undetermined point in the future is just as frustrating as it is nice to hear.
We would like to add controller support to the PC version of the game, and in fact, we're in the early phases of testing it internally. That said, we don't anticipate that this feature will be added to the PC build until after the game releases on consoles on June 9th.

Well maybe you can surprise PC users and be ahead on one of your anticipations?

We would LOVE to, but that said, we'd like to be sure it's done correctly. Controller support also includes adding the console UI to the PC version of the game, and ensuring that the UI that we're scaling for the living room works properly on a monitor as well.
Ruze is a veteran of the PC Beta, lived through the year one drought, survived the buy-to-play conversion, and has stepped foot in the hells known as Craglorn. He mained a nightlbade when nightblades weren't good, and has never worn a robe. He converted from PC during the console betas, and hasn't regretted it a moment since.
He'd rank ESO:TU (in it's current state) a 4.8 out of 5, loving the game almost entirely.

SET Voicechat (etc...)
are there plans to bring in-game VoIP channel(s) to the PC game ??

I use my PC hooked to my HDTV, so I'm goodWill there be an option of which UI to use on the PC? I'm sure many players would prefer to stick with the one they have come to know and are comfortable with. For instance, if you are using a controller then you get the "controller UI", but if you plan to stick to keyboard and mouse, you retain the current UI?

I want to know this too. I would prefer the current PC UI working with native controller support. It would easily work with hotkey based navigation and less scrolling like the Skyrim type UI does. Plus I think PC UI just looks sexier besides the grouping tool which is better on consoles. We would like to add controller support to the PC version of the game, and in fact, we're in the early phases of testing it internally. @jkemmery That's the idea, PC users would maintain the current UI

I.E. you have to push it through multiple teams, and if one of them is backed up on other work (UI team fixing console bugs in a rush before launch day), it puts the breaks on the whole shebang. Gotcha.
So many good questions! Going from the last post I made, I'll try to answer them to the best of my ability. Bear in mind that there isn't a ton of information just yet, so apologies if the answer ends up being "no info yet!"
@Zazaaji We really don't have any specifics on a date just yet. There are a ton of moving parts that go into making this work correctly, so it's hard to really make a commitment to a time frame until more testing has been done.
@Beowulf_McCallum VOIP is something that has been experimented with for a long time, even prior to the PC/Mac version of the game being launched. That said, the feature is currently deferred and won't see any additional experimentation until after console launch.
@pecheckler Currently we don't have announced plans to do server transfers, with the exception of the console transfer offer for people who bought and activated the PC version of the game before 6/30/2014. If this changes, we'll be sure everyone knows about it ASAP. We're always taking feedback for this kind of stuff too, so if this is a feature you'd like to see, please be sure to /feedback it in the game.
@jkemmery That's the idea, PC users would maintain the current UI while players using a controller would get a modified console layout.
@Eivar Good feedback! These kinds of things are the reason why implementation on the PC isn't as simple as porting the UI. What happens if you're using add ons? Can you use both layouts at the same time seamlessly? Does it swap the UI quickly when you tap a key on your keyboard? Does a UI made for the living room still work on a monitor? These are all things that our teams are thinking about to ensure the smoothest implementation.
@Thesiren Currently there is no option for text chat on the consoles. That said, we've heard the feedback loud and clear from folks that participated in the console beta either by playing or watching, and we'd like to thank everyone for that.
@Audigy On the consoles, the UI has been changed precisely because the average player is going to be on the couch further away. We don't have plans to change the current UI on the PC for mouse/keyboard users. When more info on the PC implementation of the console UI is available, we'll be sure to let everyone know.
@Kalifas That's a pretty interesting thought...we'll be sure that gets sent along to the UI folks.
Whew. Hope that helps. We really do appreciate everyone's feedback and understanding on this!
