Is it true that chat will be cancelled?

I read it into a thread on this forum that after console release will chat be cancelled and that voice chat will be only way to communicate.

Just want to check this information, because that idea is completelly... No, there is no word powerfull enough to express this.

Rumors and bad info in the forums.....during the out lash of console voice chat complaints.

I honestly don't know how you will hold guilds together well etc with just voice chat? Can't see it working well at all on console.

Not what I heard. Pc shouldn't change, it's console that'll have a different communication method. I heard that everyone there will be on headsets and you'll be able to have open comms like TS but with the entire game. Of course you'll be able to filter into things like group, guild, disable it ect.

Also in zones if you get close to people you'll be able to hear them through headset. As your characters separate on screen your voices will fade. Which is just pretty nuts to imagine.

Maybe canceling chat in Cyrodiil wouldn't be a bad idea.

It always seems to be dominated by two or three guys with high blood pressure shouting the same things over and over.


And I'm thinking, cool story bro, you do that while I go collect firewood on the other side of the map.

PC voice only chat...... you wouldn't be able to hear anyone over the roar of people trying to talk over each other. That is how I am seeing ESO on console, a vocal mess. They really should be supporting text chat for ps4 and xbox one.

I agree with you, but how to make it? It would be very slow any way you make it.

That sounds stupid even for console. Even with a small group you can only really have a handful of people talk and it's usually limited to the group leaders. Forcing that as the only means is a garbage idea.

Both consoles have native USB keyboard support. Everyone since 2005 or so has a USB keyboard.

both have native usb support, heck xbox users can even use this bad boy if needed...

on top of that xbox one itself has the smartglass feature that allows us to use our phones, tablets, etc to text. and i didnt find that all together too hard on neverwinter. just a quick swype and your done.
