In my experience, ESO has always been very slow regarding to latency, responsiveness, fluidity of combat. You won't get much better results adding a new server in Asia, not before the server software is optimized to benefit of that.

My ping is around 250ms to 350ms playing from Africa, pvp is fine for me, except for one thing - weapon swap. It's still very unresponsive and clunky. Looking at GW2 where I have the same ping the weapon swap is extremely smooth and fast and I have never had any problem with it.

I've actually played games that have SEA servers (usually in Singapore) and the latency from Australia East Coast is without exception worse than the latency to US West or even East. That's a fact.

You may be able to get good latency from Perth, but the vast majority of Australia's tiny population lies on the East Coast.

Unless a server is in Sydney, Australians and Kiwis do not benefit from any server that is not US West.

Lol at the "Millions" when I don't even think ESO NA mega server breaks the 1k players online mark. Well it might, but it certainly does not feel that way with regards to visibility of other player toons.

The lag though, yup the lag is like a Billion are playing.

ESO NA or EU easily breaks the 1k player mark .... Remember you are playing on a megaserver that puts you in the same zone instances as the people in your guilds, people you've grouped with etc. So obviously you are going to see the same faces very often, but I think there are many other instances filled with people you've never met.
Obviously we don't have millions though...

It's been a mixed bag for me and I think depends fully on the host. I've played a variety of games some of which required me to join up on Aussie and Kiwi based servers. I've had a mix of 150ms pings all the way up to 1000+ pings. Maybe it's different coming out of Australia to the rest of Asia, but you can get decent speeds going into Australia from the rest of Asia.

I don't have anything against an Asian server, but I live 160 km from Frankfurt, where the EU servers supposedly are, I get internet from one of the best ISPs around and the game is still laggy. So I don't know how much a new server would really help.

200-ms latency to the NA server means nothing when you are getting 5-10 second rubber-banding in Cyrodiil

Most of the time I am at 70ms.
and then prime time arrives where I can be anywhere from 250 to +999
That is pure traffic though the servers at peak times...with PVP combat induced lag no doubt.

So even if you did have a new server and better ping.
Prime time would still leave you no better off then anyone else.

Get them to eliminate the lag 1st.
    Then think about new servers.

I got base 250-270 ping from Sydney, in Cyrodill, 1v1 fight is 400+ ping, any fight more than 10 player is 999+.

If your game is unplayable here, don't sell them to Australia.

Lol, clearly you do not understand the way the megaserver works. You will not see a million players on your screen because the server is constantly re-populating different realms on the same server to ensure you never feel like you're in a server that's empty or overcrowded. It shows a huge degree of ignorance on your part to draw the conclusion that the NA server doesn't break 1k players online. That or you're just one of the many blind haters here who don't let a little thing like truth get in the way of you bashing the developer.

You want business? Think about the market. Asia, the biggest continent who got so many people playing games. Chinese, Japanese, Koreans, Filipinos, Indians, Malaysians, Singaporeans, and so much more.

Asian players no matter how good they are simply can't be competitive because of high latency/ping. Same thing applies for Australians. That is the main reason they are hesitant to play this game. However, theres still a great number of players from Asia & Australia playing in the US server.

Asia got so many languages, but no worries, they can understand English perfectly. All you have to do is make another server for them.

    Millions are waiting!
My experience with FFXI since '05 and FFXIV since '10 tells me neither your assertion about 'ping' nor that use of English by Asians (generally Japanese but also others) are correct.

I'm in England and I play on FFXI servers in Japan.... Blah blah blah

As for English, large numbers of Japanese don't want to use English because while they may speak it a bit they're not fluent and often don't want to embarrass themselves: no, I'm NOT being racist I'm telling you what a few JP players in the FF Linkshells ('guilds') I'm in tell me.

I have no reason to think players in other 'Asian' countries are much different.

    More blah blah blah ...

Hey I have an non-Asian (cough cough) friend who has trouble with math. Basically he can't even do 12 times 3. Therefore I have no reason to think any other non-Asian is any better at math. /sarcasm

Seriously speaking good English is the least of your problems lol. I'd rather have an iq above 120 than be able to speak good English which I do. Also hint; I'm an Asian living in Singapore lolol! U no speako Mai bersion of inglisho?

Amen to that. It would actually be really refreshing to re-roll on a new server with no crafting or cp benefits.

Skyrim sold over 500,000 copies in Japan alone. There seems to be an interest in the franchise. If ZOS marketed a localized version of ESO and gave Asia a server to play on, they'd surely fill it up.

I bounce between 4 MMOs at the moment. Im sure others in Asia/Oceana would join ESO given the chance to play on a secure and responsive server.

Id be even happier if there was a way to reduce lag to ESO servers from Asia (EU server in my case).

I have no idea how to do that but from user point of view I can see that ESO latency is different compared to other games.

For some reason ESO ping is quite worst

Awesome news. I might be moving to Singapore in 2018. A direct link back to the boys in Oz will be welcomed with open arms.
