Console text chat

I know there are several threads on chat functions for consoles, but they all seem to be for/against threads. Putting that aside and just thinking about the functionality, while I think it will mostly be fine to not have text chat there are a few areas that I wonder how to approach on consoles without text. Some are unique to ESO.

1) How to buy stuff from players? I have found in many cases the best way to buy/sell things in ESO is WTB/WTS in zone chat. The guild stores (that I have looked at) seem extremely overpriced and its actually quite a complex system compared to standard auction houses, making buying/selling already inherently more difficult than in other mmos. Selling/buying services (vampire bites etc) is even more difficult because there is no game system for that other than text chat.

2) Grouping for dungeons? Does the LFG tool even work? Every dungeon I have run is either with friends or typing LFG in zone chat.

3) PvP grouping? Is there even a grouping tool in pvp? No text chat could work fine if there was a smart group tool for PvP like in Warhammer online, but how do we do it without text in ESO?

Well that's three areas I use chat for a lot and am unsure how to replace without text chat. Please let me know if you have solutions, or if there are other areas that will make things functionally difficult in game without text chat.

    1) Your options are to join a trading guild, hit up players around you over voice chat, or more likely, put your items for sale on a forum somewhere. Most likely, trade guilds will have more use now that it's the primary form of selling items to other players, and thus the trade markets in towns will be more frequented.

    2) Looking for Group tool works very well. You still have the option of looking for guildies to join using the guild voice chat channel, grouping with friends, or pulling from the looking for group tool. Without zone chat, you'll see LFG used much more frequently. For larger/harder instances, there may be websites similary to 'DestinyLFG' to pull from.

    3) Also uses Looking for Group, but you have to be in your home/visiting instance to use it. And of course there are guild chats, friends lists, and forums.
Ruze Aulus. Mayor of Dhalmora. Archer, hunter, assassin. Nightblade.
Gral. Mountain Terror. Barbarian, marauder, murderer. Nightblade.
Na'Djin. Knight-Blade. Knight, vanguard, defender. Nightblade.

    XBOX NA
Ruze is a veteran of the PC Beta, lived through the year one drought, survived the buy-to-play conversion, and has stepped foot in the hells known as Craglorn. He mained a nightlbade when nightblades weren't good, and has never worn a robe. He converted from PC during the console betas, and hasn't regretted it a moment since.

He'd rank ESO:TU (in it's current state) a 4.8 out of 5, loving the game almost entirely.

This is an multiplayer game. I should be able to log in, join a dungeon, join a battleground, queue for a dolmen or world boss or delve, teleport in, play for 20 minutes, and not worry about getting kicked, failing to join, having perfect voice coms, or being unable to complete content because someone's lagging behind. Group Finder and matchmaking is broken. Take a note from Destiny and build a system that allows from drop-in/drop-out functionality and quick play.

Well that sounds reasonable. I spend most of my time in pvp and I didn't even know the LFG tool existed there! Maybe the concept of trade guilds could be better explained in game for consoles? I am somewhat concerned about how guilds will form without text chat considering how important they are in game.

On your point 3- are you saying there will be friends/ guild voice chat channels? That would be very good (basically what we use now in groups through a third party program). However, I don't think forums will be useful for actual logistics while playing in pvp.
