Now, this is how i solo as a sorc against large mobs. the following skillset can work against bosses too, but it is not reccomended. It is highly advised you do not use this build in pvp, it could work against inexperianced zergs, but again it is inadvised.
Firstly, im only giving the skill bars i use, any passives or gear sets are at your discretion, but its advised you take everything you can to increase your max magicka and reduce magicka cost.
That said, the Skills:
First bar is a destruction staff of your choice, i prefer fire
Slot one: Lightning Splash and morphs, i prefer liquid lightning
Slot two: Impulse and morphs, i prefer elemental ring
Slot Three: Conjured ward and morphs, i prefer empowered
Slot four and five: the summons, i prefer clanfear and twilight matriarch
Ultimate: i prefer overload, either morph is useful. This is incase you happen upon a strong boss and didnt have the good sense to change builds, otherwise you can equip bats if your a vamp, or negate magic if your not
Second bar is Restoration staff
Slot one: Regeneration and morphs, i prefer mutagen
Slot two: Lightning Form and morphs, i prefer Thundering presence
Slot three: Surge and morphs, i prefer power surge
Slot four and five: the summons, i prefer clanfear and twilight matriarch
Ultimate: I slot the atronach here, but for some that might not be best, use your own descretion.
Now you've seen the build, now lets go over proper usage
Feasibly, youll have a moment before you engage a large mob, in that moment you should switch to the second bar and apply the buffed skills, if you havent already summoned your daedra, do so.
After you have applyed buffs, switch to the first bar, apply your ward. You may have to apply the ward again during battle, so keep an eye on your health bar.
After your all buffed up, drop a lightning splash on the mob, rush to middle of mob, and spam the hell out of impulse, and like stated before, make sure to apply ward if you start losing health. While your ward is active, your regen and surge will repair what damage you took when you lost it. Its also advised you blockcast, as in block while spamming impulse, if you dont like that, then drink a unstoppable potion after your first impulse.
Ive named this build Daedric Maelstrom, reason being when using this build, you become a elemental terror on par with the greatest of storms.
With this build, ive found no challenge in any veteran zone, in truth i have to go to craglorn to even get some form of challenge, even then its easy to mow through even three wasp nests at once.
I discovered this build after 1.6 on my vr14, and wanting to test it on a lower level vet character, i leveled another sorc to test it. at vr14, or vr2, doesnt matter, craglorn mobs and pub dungeon mobs cower before my gary sue power. To a lesser degree bosses do too, but that takes a bit more skill, and a butt-ton more magicka.
