Is it possible to get to Cadwell's Gold before getting VR1?

Hi, guys!

Two days ago I've finished Cadwell's silver with my VR1 char.

And I know that i've got more than 150k XP that could not be got (WW and Undaunted quest, some sides, killing, some zones found)

So I really wonder if it's possible to finish Cadwell's Silver and get access to all the adventure zones before you get VR1 level?

Has anyone tried?

seeing as the main story is fed to you in increments based on your level, you'd be lvl 45 before even having the chance to get to vet zones, even then i think its a requirement of those zones to be vet level before getting in them, if the mail your sent when you hit vr1 is any indication

you would have to finish the last zone VR5 quest and then the last zone VR10 quest so no.. you definately wont be able to kill those monsters not even in a party since alot of it is solo play

No, i mean finishing Cadwell's silver only. No need in making Cadwell's gold.

You are recommended but nobody will stop my VR1 char from entering Bangkorai now.

Seeing how the OP managed to do the entire Silver quest and still only level 200k XP into VR1, it should be possible. If you go to Coldharbour as soon as you hit level 45, only do the absolute minimum required quests to get to the final stage of the main quest and then proceed to only doing the absolute minimum in the Silver quest line, it seems possible. Sneaking past mobs as much as possible instead of killing them, or relying on others to kill mobs for you without grouping with them, will make you earn less XP, and that should most likely do the trick.

However, I doubt anyone has tried, because frankly, what's the point? Being hopelessly underleveled for the VR6-VR10 zones doesn't sound like much fun. If there had been an achievement for this ("Underdog"?), perhaps more people would have had the idea.

The storyline in the VR zones is not based on a minimum VR level, just on linear quest progression. So yes, basically you should be able to do it. However, I would recommend picking up some "needful things" (no spoiler!) in the Rift zone as well.

The motivation to do smth can be internal, not external.

Hopelessly? For a good DK build with good equip? The only thing stopping me from finishing Bangkorai right now are 10-15 misses of 20 shots.

I think technically it is possible but very unlikely, even if you passed molag ball at level 45/46, just doing the main quest line required to Finnish silver would most likely put you well over lvl 50.

Maybe if you played a NB and just sneak through every quest without killing any mobs, but even so the amount of quest reward Xp you recive from 5 zones would probably take you over 50.

I would assume it is possible but I haven't tried it. I'd recomend to take a magicka nb so you can skip most of the fights and don't get unnecessary xp.

Agree. If you completed Caldwell Silver, you should already have the quest that takes you to Gold, regardless of level. Might be some kind of record if you are a VR1 and make it to your first Gold zone. You may not be able to win at combat, but you can explore, get skyshards, etc.

Level 47 and at 3rd silver zone. Following Caldwells Almanac and seeing if I can get to gold at vet 1. Did not actually plan on this, but now that I see how close I am, well...

Also going to run another alt thru to see if I can make it to gold before vet 1.

This is just for fun, mind, as I have already gone thru every quest in order etc on my main.

So, go for it, bro! It is a fun challenge

I'm not sure you even bothered to read his post past the title. He is VR1 and has COMPLETED Cadwell's Silver already. He also has more than enough XP left in VR1 if he does only the bare minimum to complete Cadwell's Gold before he dings VR2 or at the very least while he's just a little into VR2. I myself completed Cadwell's Gold at VR7 but I did every single quest in every Veteran Zone up through VR6, it was only VR7-10 that I only did the Storyline to see how low I could finish Gold, then went back and finished all quests. I also had Lower Craglorn fully explored and all Anoms completed by VR6 so that added a ton to my XP.

To the OP, the only issue I see is the constant missing you'll experience by the time you were in the VR10 Zone. Even being VR6-7 in my VR10 Zone I was missing a fair bit which got annoying at times. CAN it be done, I'm sure someone will prove it's possible, just like someone has finished the WW and Vampire quest line at LvL 3.

In the past, no. With champion system now and the right toon, maybe. Point is why? So many forget that the quests award DIRECT cp points to you bottom line. Do them, they do your toon good.

Yes. With the right equipment it is technically easy. The other side of the coin is that tradeoff of experience for min-min-ing will reduce the amount of quest driven champion points earned.

tried. Don't think it's possible unless they remove the level gate at MB fight. (Got an alt to this point @ level 32 ~ but cannot get the quest til 45.) WAS able to get ALL zones open AT V1, so you can have access to all zones @ but not before from my experience.

The earliest you can get access to Cadwell's Silver is Level 45. If you can complete all Silver quests without hitting the required XP to level up, then theoretically the earliest you can get Cadwell's Gold is also Level 45.

I saw a level 49 in Stonefalls one time, but it was when veteran points were a thing, and he didn't get any experience at all for it. Anyway, yes it can be done.

I was wondering this same exact thing. Yesterday I beat MB at level 44, and immediately started Cadwell's Silver. I was able to log into vet level Glenumbra and start the first quest line there with no problem. My first thought though was the worry of being under-leveled as I got to Gold. I guess I won't be able to pick and choose the quests I want to do now. Have to do them all.

On a side note, I couldn't help but notice how quiet zone chat was and how there were no people stacked up at the bank tellers. I'm thinking of just rolling another alt and shelve another VR toon for now until the vet zones become more populated again.

You sure about that? I'm sure I didn't hit level 45 until my first run-in with mobs doing quests in the vet zone. (I was drinking alot yesterday though so my memory could be skewed) I'm also pretty sure that once the Planar Vortex quest is complete, the MB quest is available.

Since it's possible to get the Coldharbour quests (Restore Hollow City) ridiculously early (my Blackwaterian sorceress babbled with The Groundskeeper at level 21) it should be possible to finish off the required Coldharbour quests without gaining too much XP before taking down Molag Bal just as you hit level 45. Saving the main quest til level 40 will prevent too much leveling up from running errands for the Aquarius guy.

Not doubting you. I was also using the XP boost from the Crown Store so I was wizzing through quests and leveling so fast it all may have gotten ahead of me. But now I'm wondering what the deal is with XP in the vet zone and it's interaction with the XP boost. For the amount of questing and killing I was doing after I hit the vet zone, and also after the MB quest while at a lower level with the XP boost up, I should been level 46 by now using previous zones and XP gain as a benchmark. I'm only at about 1/4 of the way through level 45. The XP boost maybe doesnt seem to work as well as when I was in the non-vet zones??? I will pay a bit more attention once the server comes up.
