Down with clangy weapons!

GIVE ME MORE MAGIC WEAPONS! Stam weapons appear and feel like: stam weapons. Weapons should have separate skill lines based on magic, perhaps the bow can shoot a wraith arrow that would fear, 2h could burst into flames and strike a flamey quake across the ground, shield could blast across the screen with a glorious light and explosion. In short, GIVE ME REAL MAGIC! The magic here is weak, it feels weak. Gods at war, souls ripped from Tamriel, anchors strapped to oblivion, portals to realms in the sky, yet what do the mortals get: a "poison arrow". Sheogorath laughs at your face ESO.

So how else is some one suppost to cast fire ball if it isn't out of there hands or a staff? Do what Link does and shoot it out of the master sword? And I happen to love the fire chains in the DK skil coming out of my hands like that's a freaking MK easter egg of scorpions chains and every time i use them i of course have to say " GET OVER HERE "

I think you took a left turn in some other game and ended up in the wrong place.

The current weapons lines are very much in line with other games in the Elder Scrolls series.

In other words... Do Not Want.

I am all for more magic. But... in a different way, I want more options for the destruction and restoration skill lines we already have. No new stuff, just more choices for visuals for the effects we already have. After all, staves are okay, but... my librarian sorceror would prefer to have something smaller that doesn't bump into bookshelves all the time, maybe a spellbook, or some rune focus, or holy symbol he can wear on his belt, and then hold high for casting a spell... or maybe even a magic wand or scepter, wizards in D&D had those way before harry potter... just gimme more options for magical weapons!
(of course... those things might work well with a jeweler crafting line, together with rings and amulets... just saying... ;) )

BtW - if you want to fire wraith arrows, roll a nightblade archer, you'll find there is a certain skill that allows you to do just that...

You can always enchant your weapons and get the flaming effect... This is much more in line with ES lore

I think the mages in this game, (in game world, not players)compared to the other Elder Scrolls games, rely too much on the enchantment on their staves and not from their own magicka reserves. I wanna see my sorcerer casting ice from his hands, not my damn walking stick :<

Pretty sure they have ALWAYS been trying to get mages to use staffs more in the elder scrolls games, at least since since morrowind. They just have never been able to make it worth while.

as for the OP, um.....NO, it not only does not fit with how magic has always worked in game, but it also does not fit with how it works in LORE either.

Stick with the same; it's been working for them so far bahahahahahaha.... not

The problem I have there are:

    4 Stam weapons for dps

If you choose magic you get:

    1

As far as spells from hands versus weapons, there are far fewer options for magic dps users and magic is considerably weaker than stam at the moment, largely because all they have is 1 weapon to choose from which forces a ranged build. Of course I can use class abilities, but so can stam, the difference is that stam users have scores of more options because regardless the build, weapon power stacks higher than magic for much higher damage. This is stupid

    It's LAMMMMMEEEEEEEEEEEE!

As far as it matching Elder Scroll lore; when did I ever have blazing spear, or biting shards, or talons and chains in other eso games? never :P What you decide fits in lore, doesn't dictate what I want to fit in lore. I say give me more magic and if they build it, people will come :P

I wouldn't say they've been trying to force staves more. Especially with spellcrafting that's been in there till Skyrim. In Oblivion, they even had a chance to let you craft your own awesome personal staff when joining the mage's guild, but instead, just a crappy looking regular staff that you can get better of if you got it as a low level. If you used a staff in most of the games, you were lowering your DPS capabilities by not casting spells, especially in skyrim. It saved magicka, especially if the staff's spell casted a costly one for you, but if you built for magicka, you'd have no problem.

I just think they went this route cause you can't loot a mage's hand of their corpse to use as your weapon.
